A renewed global framework to accelerate action on antimicrobial resistance.
The updated Global Action Plan on AMR (2026–2036) has now been adopted by Member States at the World Health Assembly and by @WOAH delegates at the 93rd General session, marking a major step forward in delivering the commitments of the 2024 UN General Assembly Political Declaration on AMR.

As a member of the GLG on AMR, I held conversations with Ayoade Alakija, the “Global Ministerial Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)” of the Government of Nigeria.The GLG on AMR remains in close dialogue with the Nigerian authorities in preparation for the Abuja Conference.
During his intervention at the 1st Americas Meeting on AMR in Brasilia, GLG member @FerLUGRIS stressed the importance of data and integrated surveillance to tackle #AMR#OneHealth#ActOnAMR
Discussions with the Quadripartite and the GLG on AMR, focusing on the progress made in establishing the Independent Panel on Evidence for Action against AMR #IPEA, were very productive.
The GLG emphasizes the need for the Quadripartite @FAO, @UNEP, @WHO and @WOAH to expedite the finalization of the roadmap and process, with extensive consultations with Member States to ensure their continued engagement and support.
Evidence-based solutions are essential to effectively #ActOnAMR. The GLG remains fully engaged in supporting the establishment of #IPEA.
