Sustrans under fire in today's Times for refusing to say how much of the £40m it has received in contracts from public bodies over the past 5 years has been for work on designing LTNs. https://t.co/6QIEy4mfN2
We have been gathering evidence of the unintended, unseen and unconsidered consequences of LTNs.
They're often defended as being in the interests of children - yet we are hear many concerns from schools about the negative impact they are having.
Here's the first example:
Wheelchair user unable to get access to her home, because taxis are banned from entering this LTN on Marsden St NW5 at certain times!
Hold your heads in shame

Last night's result was a poor one, and there is no denying it.
That being said, Haringey Labour has taken my community for granted for too long — I will be back!
An FOI request I submitted earlier this month has revealed that, from September to the end of December last year, Haringey Council issued a total of 60,207 #LTN penalty charge notices with a total value of £1,994,525.
@HaringeyLabour's cash-grab seems to be working.
If you do one thing today, I urge you, whether you back LTNs or not, to read this thread. It highlights the simplistic way the backers of yesterday's Possible LTN report have presented its findings is misleading and, crucially, is not supported by the detail in the report itself.
A thread on the latest research into LTNs – widely promoted but narrowly interpreted by LTN advocates – here’s an alternative take on what it shows.
Let’s start the data itself rather than the averages.
The following all appear in the research – what can they tell us?
From September 2022 to 31st December 2022 Haringey Council issued 60,207 LTN penalty charge notices.
They have extorted the huge sum of £1,994,525 from hard-working motorists.
There can be no doubt that the LTNs are solely about raising revenue. #fighting4tottenham

@BBCLondonNews BBC, why are you writing about "boundary roads" but staying silent about the traffic LTNs displace onto main roads & Red Routes which can see 11,000 motor vehicles use them a day. LTNs worsen traffic, congestion & air pollution on these residential roads!👇🏾https://t.co/M91xS1psAE
Why did the LCC affiliated journalists fail to mention the non recording of vehicles traveling under 10 kmph in previous gaslight? They may possibly be able to answer …..but I suppose it did not fit there agenda ….. @RachelAldred knew this too
