You clearly have not read, or perhaps cannot comprehend, the very article you are commenting on. To reduce Eritrea’s regional role to a caricature of “sealing borders” and “sponsoring militias” betrays not only ignorance but also a profound intellectual laziness.

The Horn of Africa is one of the most dynamic and complex regions on the entire continent, with layers of history, culture, and politics that cannot be reduced to soundbites or propaganda lines. Had you studied even the most basic works on the modern political history of the Horn, from Christopher Clapham to Alemsegd Tesfai’s recent book, or taken the time to consult Brothers at War by Tekeste Negash and Kjetil Tronvoll, you might have realized that the region’s turmoil is not primarily the product of Eritrea’s policies but of the chronic disorder emanating from Ethiopia itself. The instability originates in Addis Ababa under the delusional leadership of Abiy Ahmed, the Sick Man of the Horn, whose expansionist fantasies and toxic #Oromumma ideology have already driven hundreds of thousands to their deaths and are now threatening to push the entire region to the edge of an abyss reminiscent of the 1998–2000 war.

I would not even bother to mention some of the foundational sources on the region’s history because I once advised you to visit the Institute of Ethiopian Studies to read the basics on Ethiopia and the Horn, and you never did. Your shallowness is astounding; your audacity to comment is matched only by your intellectual emptiness. Before moralizing about Eritrea, remember that it remains the only stable state in the Horn, while Ethiopia burns in famine, ethnic warfare, and moral decay. If your aim is analysis, read before you write; if it is propaganda, at least have the humility to admit it. For now, you merely echo the delusions of the regime you defend, amplifying the propaganda of a toxic ideology that has already undone a once-proud nation.
