@RGinghina Hey Raina! I really enjoyed this class discussion and my group came up with having a library of books for story time filled with diversity children’s books so that learning about other cultures is a normal part of each kindergartener’s day at story time! #educ200#03sp22
@kendraejean It’s super interesting to learn more about how each student may need something a little different, whether that be learning through job-like activities, IEP’s, etc. This will help all of us give all of our future students the resources they need! #03Sp22#EDUC200
@Emma95393099 Hey Emma, I realized during this lesson that the farther you move up the pyramid, the more students have the chance to be challenged and creative. I think every lesson should strive to hit each level of Bloom’s Taxonomy! #Educ200#03Sp22
@GrowWiseOwls@JJESOwls Hi! I’m studying elementary education at JMU and I plan on teaching kindergarten. I love how students in your class are challenged and allowed to be creative at such a young age! I hope to do this in my class! #educ200#03Sp22 👍🏼💛
@hrsparrow4 Hey Hannah, I think it’s very interesting how students in the same class subject may learn totally different things based on what their teacher sees as important. I wonder what I missed out on that others learned, or what I’ve learned that others missed out on. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@Baileyjmu2025 It is hard to wrap my head around the fact that your entire future could be effected by which kindergarten class you get put in. Tracking has pros and cons, but I believe all students deserve a fair chance at success. #03Sp22#EDUC200
@katie__camp Hey Katie! It is definitely important for us to understand how to give credit to important people and when to paraphrase vs. when to quote. A lot of students accidentally plagiarize because they don’t understand how to correctly give credit, so this was very useful information.
@AbbieHogan25 Hey Abbie! It’s very surprising to see how much education has changed overtime. I wonder what changes we will continue to see in the future! #03sp22
Today in class we had a tough but true conversation about privilege in schools. I, along with many classmates, have never had to fight for the right to literacy. I now see how that is not the same story for some students and how important it is that we fight for them.
Today in class we looked at how school districts manage funding and how income will influence the amount of funding provided to schools. I was definitely surprised when looking to my school district an the map of poverty in Virginia. #EDUC200#03Sp22@HannahChurchJMU
@AbbieHogan25 I also saw structure because the team has to have structure within their plays to ensure they make the most out of their time to get points to win. They also have to have structure off the field to make sure they keep up healthy habits for game time.
@AbbieHogan25 I never thought about how the google norms could be applied to sports teams! I guess the google norms are for more than the workplace, they can apply to all aspects of life. Thanks for sharing!
This article talks about how to apply psychological safety to the workplace in order to achieve a focused, inspiring, and risk taking environment. It is important for employees to feel able to take risks, express new ideas, or make mistakes without fear of not being accepted.
