This is how I work now. Actually it's how almost everyone at @every works. Every workstream has an ongoing thread in Codex. I never make one off chats and I never worry about compaction.

There's SO MANY THINGS OpenAI can do to make this better. A few ideas:

1. Folders. Let me group chats together
2. Emoji selector. It's a design bummer but it's visually so much more appealing and easier to find pinned threads
3. Remove the chat bubble icon ya'll just launched. Nothing in the UI should be repetitive like that IMO.
4. Enable me to fork convos much more easily. Those should be worktrees that live inside of each chat like a folder would work.
5. SHARED CHATS with easily forked convos that all have the same context. Killer feature and makes Codex multiplayer.
6. Make HQ a feature. It's my ongoing to-do list but it's just not built for chat. I need a kanban board or something that i can kickoff codex sessions from.

Broke my own rule yesterday: child comes into my office and says, "Daddy, do you wanna see a card trick?" And I said "No, sorry, busy." Child walks outta the room and closes the door 😭 What a freaking dumbass I was. Later, when we were all together in the evening, same child asked if they could show me the magic trick then, to which I of course said yes and apologised for not giving them the time earlier. But man, even after all these years, I still have to remind myself that work (and whatever else feels “urgent”) will still be there in five minutes. The spontaneous “Daddy, wanna see a card trick?” moments won’t.

@lkostroun I'd stay away… their core offering worked well, but it wasn't refreshing accounts as promised, and then they basically didn't answer my support email for 24 days. Check out SimpleFin, though — basically does the same core thing for $3/month!

Been playing with ChatGPT Work more and liking GPT-5.6 so far. have been using the Era MCP to pull in banking and transaction data for a custom dashboard and also moving all health and fitness stuff. What a time!

I've now added Wispr, Notion, Granola, Fireflies, Zoom, Gemini, Cluely, Otter, Fathom, Read AI, and Wingrep to every meeting.

Each produces slightly different meeting notes.

I send all of them to Claude and ChatGPT, which push the summaries into Slackbot and Salesforce AI. Linear agents automatically create tickets while Notion agents create follow-ups in Notion. A Zapier workflow then uses 500k tokens to draft a follow up email in Superhuman.

None of it works and all of it is wrong but man, is it beautiful.

@mymoneyera I’m paying for Era’s Automate plan, which includes “Priority Support.” I emailed support on July 18 because my accounts were more than 34 hours stale despite an advertised 8-hour sync cadence, and manual refresh was disabled.

Six days later: no response, acknowledgment, or ticket number. Is anyone able to help?
