Our review "Obesity and MASLD: Is weight loss the (only) key to treat metabolic liver disease?" was recently published in J of Metabolism.
Great thanks to Prof. M. Roden, Dr. S. Kahl and @CSMantzoros for their great support and feedback!
Here, I share some key observations...🧵
@HermanPontzer@BPakFitness@DrAndyGalpin Interesting results! Are there similar results from your or other groups, questioning the importance of individual metabolic rates for weight loss/gain? Or e nice review? Currently collection resources on that topic.
@Paddy_Barrett Thx for putting everything together! Is there a recent scientific review, where I can read in more detail about interventions and plaque volume reduction and/or methods to screen for plaque?
@DrEenfeldt @mario_kratz This recently also occurred to me, and this - I feel - is quite paradox. Any explanation for deterioration of glucose tolerance with LC diets, irrespective of weight change?
Based on all relevant RCTs of lipid-lowering therapies performed to date, the HR for major vascular events per 1 mmol/L LDL-C reduction is 0.78

@Drlipid@StevenMathern This is interesting. Did I understand correct, that you think Lp(a) is more important than cholesterol? How do we know? Would love to read some key publications and educate myself on that. 🙏🏻
