Rekenreks are great manipulatively first doubling and halving, visually seeing addition and subtraction, and creating groups of 10 or seeing how many more it takes to get to 10. #411MNSUF19

In our Elementary Math Methods class we were able to use different manipulatives. The Rekenrek encourages students to build numbers in groups of fives and tens. This activity allows students to chunk and combine numbers instead of just counting one by one. #411MNSUF19

SNAP CUBES are an amazing manipulative that develops conceptual understanding and mathematical proficiency because students can build a new unit or break apart a unit into smaller pieces- stage before concrete base-ten blocks 🤓 #411MNSUF19
