The science of women’s health is at a crossroads. For decades, it has been limited by an underrepresentation of women in clinical trials and research, resulting in diagnostic blind spots, treatment gaps, and inequities in health outcomes. However, a growing wave of research is addressing these disparities. This work not only advances knowledge of the unique biological and social dimensions of women’s health but also facilitates broad discoveries in biology and innovations in human medicine.
A special issue of @ScienceAdvances last year highlighted some of the most exciting areas of discovery in women’s health science. The group of articles also explored psychological, systemic, and policy issues that shape women’s well-being.
Advancing women’s health is integral to advancing science itself. By prioritizing women’s unique physiological and psychological experiences, the frontiers of knowledge are expanded in ways that benefit everyone.

Publication alert! If you are into myeloid neoplasms, whether it be a physician struggling to pick the best treatment or a translational researcher curious about stem cells, this review is for you! (and everyone else). Check it out online first @CCR_AACR: https://t.co/SXHzxxY5Ff
Wow — top line VERONA results are negative — no advantage to AZA + VEN compared to AZA alone for higher-risk #MDSsm. AZA or DAC alone remain the standard for HR-MDS. So disappointing😢 🎗️🩸https://t.co/vek9GIMKwo
President Donald Trump’s administration appears to be killing much, if not all, of a historic initiative that was the first, and is still the largest, National Institutes of Health effort centered on the health needs of women. https://t.co/4ZFwH4Anep
@Ella_Maru@NatureComms@may_daher@MDAndersonNews Our results link dysfunction to the presence of MDS-driver mutations in the NK cell pool, but intriguingly we also detected transcriptional alterations related to inefficient immune synapses in wild-type NK cells, suggesting that indeed there may be a paracrine component at play!
Just out!! Our work on NK cells dysfunction in patients with clonal cytopenias frequently preceding MDS is finally published in @NatureComms! This was a collab between the #collalab and @may_daher@MDAndersonNews

The US government is sistematically erasing bios of women in STEM from the websites of gubernamental agencies such as NASA or NIH. Some amazing 😍 people started this website to prevent those women's stories to be forgotten. Please check it out and share! https://t.co/YQfb5dvO2F
