I do think students need to demonstrate learning in a variety of methods, including old fashioned writing sometimes, but using alternative methods is preparation for real life too. Who doesn't look for easier ways to do work? #dtk12

@BarberLegendre As a person with aging eyes - the ability to change font size is an amazing support! I have worked with students with vision issues who also appreciated larger font. Also changing the background colour from white to peach (or others) can make a huge difference #dtk12

@PoissantCarrie That's a point I wasn't even thinking of- you are right- easy transferability is a huge asset and support. Like using google classroom so students can access homework easily #dtk12

@NatashaVanDrie1 When I was in school (in the 70s) I despised group projects - you were at the mercy of the person with the lowest work ethic. There were many nights I stayed up rewriting or finishing others work. I am learning to appreciate collaboration with others 😃#dtk12

@CathySandul @Jilby09 @jthill A2 I agree that teachers need to learn to be comfortable with students asking why! From the time my daughter learned to talk, her favourite question was why - whatever answer you gave she would continue to ask why. I could have let her discover more answers #dtk12

@Jon_Beckett @Jilby09 @jthill I like that - it's exactly what I was thinking. I am planning a grade 4 social studies unit on Alberta celebrations and challenges where I plan to let the students discover what they want to learn by asking why and then teach the class what they learn. #dtk12

@MBates2019 @jnordh9 @PoissantCarrie And cold weather! My grade 2 practicum teacher is part of an initiative to have students spend more time outdoors - they often eat outside, go for walks, do PE, do journal writing regardless of the weather. Her students seem to really like it. #dtk12
