We caught up with Ahmad Tarhini, MD, PhD (@ATarhiniMDPhD), after his presentation at #ASCO26 to discuss key findings from his research, emerging approaches in melanoma treatment and why these advances matter for patient care. #MoffittASCO26
‼️New findings from the SARC041 trial presented at #ASCO26 suggest abemaciclib significantly improved progression-free survival in patients with advanced dedifferentiated liposarcoma, supporting its potential as a new treatment option for this rare sarcoma subtype.
Moffitt’s Mihaela Druta, MD (@MihaelaDruta), stopped by the booth to discuss the data from Mark Dickson, MD, of @MSKCancerCenter, highlighting the promise of a new therapy for patients with recurrent or metastatic dedifferentiated liposarcoma. #MoffittASCO26
During #ASCO26, I spoke with Dr. Peter Forsyth (@PeterForsyth27), chair of @MoffittNews' Neuro-Oncology Program, about research aimed at improving treatment for brain tumors and melanoma that spreads to the brain. #ASCO26#MoffittASCO26
At #ASCO26, Nikhil Khushalani, MD (@DrKhushalani), and Lilit Karapetyan, MD (@KarapetLilit), discuss advances in TIL therapy for melanoma.
Their conversation highlights research on the tumor microenvironment and collaborative efforts to better understand treatment-related toxicities, including cytopenias and infections, with the goal of optimizing patient selection and improving outcomes. #MoffittASCO26
At #ASCO26, Dr. Katy Tsai (@katyktsai) of @UCSFCancer shared a thoughtful look at response-guided therapy in the neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings. It’s an important reminder that cancer treatment is not one-size-fits-all, and that adjusting along the way can help better tailor care to each patient. #ASCO26 #MoffittASCO26
While at #ASCO26, Tiago Biachi, MD, PhD (@BiachiTiago), stopped by the booth to discuss research evaluating an investigational treatment approach for previously untreated, unresectable or metastatic colorectal cancer. #MoffittASCO26
From #ASCO26, Nikhil Khushalani, MD (@DrKhushalani), and Vernon Sondak, MD (@VernSondakMD), discuss emerging melanoma research that could help refine treatment strategies and improve quality of life for patients.
Highlights include new data on treatment de-escalation for patients with exceptional responses and next-generation TIL approaches designed to maintain efficacy while reducing treatment-related toxicity. #MoffittASCO26
From #ASCO26, Mihaela Druta, MD (@MihaelaDruta), highlights a study she co-authored evaluating afamitresgene autoleucel (afami-cel), a MAGE-A4-targeted T-cell therapy, in advanced synovial sarcoma.
Pooled trial data showed meaningful responses, pointing to the potential of engineered T-cell therapies for patients with this rare and challenging disease. #MoffittASCO26
🚨New phase 3 data presented at #ASCO26 compared postoperative stereotactic radiation with cesium-131 tile-based radiation following resection of brain metastases.
Moffitt’s Peter Forsyth, MD (@PeterForsyth27), discusses the work by @DrJeffWeinberg of @UTMDAnderson and how tile-based radiation could help redefine postoperative care by improving local control and integrating surgery and radiation into a single treatment approach. #MoffittASCO26
We caught up with Karen Lu, MD (@karenluMD), and Tiago Biachi, MD, at the #MoffittASCO26 booth to discuss emerging advances in colorectal cancer, from new bispecific therapies to efforts aimed at expanding the benefits of immunotherapy to more patients. #ASCO26
Live from the #ASCO26 Plenary: Mary-Ellen Taplin, MD (@DanaFarber_GU@DanaFarber), presents results from the phase 3 PROTEUS study showing that adding apalutamide before and after surgery for high-risk localized prostate cancer reduced the risk of recurrence by 29% and lowered the risk of metastasis by 20% compared with standard treatment.
In high-risk localized or locally advanced prostate cancer, PROTEUS is the first to demonstrate:
• One year of preoperative apalutamide and androgen deprivation therapy significantly improves MFS.
• Significant improvement in major pathological response at prostatectomy.
• Significant improvement in EFS and delayed time to subsequent therapy.
#MoffittASCO26
From treatment timing to patient outcomes, Lacey Mead, DO, discusses research at the booth during #ASCO26 exploring neoadjuvant immunotherapy in Merkel cell carcinoma. #MoffittASCO26
Happening live at #ASCO26, Lilit Karapetyan, MD (@KarapetLilit), moderates an Oral Abstract Session focused on immunotherapy research, where experts share findings, discuss clinical implications and explore future directions in cancer care. #MoffittASCO26
What new treatment approaches are being explored for recurrent or metastatic head and neck cancer? Guilherme Rabinowits, MD, will present research at #ASCO26 evaluating FID-007 in combination with cetuximab in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. #MoffittASCO26@ASCO
During #ASCO26, Nikhil Khushalani, MD, shares research exploring combination therapy approaches in metastatic uveal melanoma and how biomarker research may help inform future treatment strategies. #MoffittASCO26
While at #ASCO26, Monica Avila, MD (@MAvilaMD), stopped by the #MoffittASCO26 booth to discuss early findings from the EVEREST-2 trial, including safety, efficacy and encouraging signs of clinical activity as researchers continue evaluating this CAR-T cell therapy approach.
Before his presentation at #ASCO26 Andrew Kuykendall, MD (@KuykendallMd), discussed findings from his study and what they could mean for patients with myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms and chronic neutrophilic leukemia. #MoffittASCO26
While at #ASCO26, Richard Kim, MD, and Allan Pereira, MD, (@DrAllanPereira) stopped by the Moffitt booth to discuss advances in upper GI cancers, including the HERIZON-GEA-01 study.
