@AlexaM21559 Gamification tends to break the normal "cycle" of classroom learning. It gives students a "break" without actually stopping the teaching process. I believe if mastered, it can enhance any curriculum, and even make it better than before!
@JWhite2319 I would never use Tik Tok in my classroom. I feel it encourages the endless DOOM-SCROLLING effect, which we as educator should be trying to get away from for our studets sake. I actually believe it is decreasing their overall intelligence. Thoughts?
@swking_1998 Chat GPT can easily be integrated into my everyday classroom use. Pros are double checking work and asking for creative ideas. Cons are relying on the technology and completely replacing problem solving skills. Students will exploit this if we let them.
@LDeVault002 Gamification can only thrive as a reward. Unfortunately if it's used too much it becomes a distraction and students begin to rely on it. I also feel it can be super effective for SOME students to learn in this way, but it certainly doesn't work for everybody!
@DoretyC43265 By far one of the most collaborative AND free tools is Coggle. It's made by Google, so it's also incredibly well designed. Students can use this online platform to create collaborative mind maps and share ideas visually! It's super intuitive and easy to use!
@DFleurantin98@tompgavin This is amazing! I have already seen some kids walking around school (with teacher's permission), recording each other to make educational videos! I love the idea of the "challenge" you are incorporating to make it more fun and competitive! #wuedt6020
@JWahl4520@tompgavin This was another idea I had! I especially love Youtube because of the real-time translation feature. It's so helpful for our multi-lingual learners, of which we have an abundance. Will your district allow you to easily sign up your student's with their Gmail Account? #wuedt6020
@tompgavin I plan to integrate Venmo into my classroom to connect students with one another. Students can utilize Venmo to run their real in-school businesses as a part of my Entrepreneurship Unit. Students can also gather useful sales data from other student’s businesses. @wuedt6020
@JJefferiesWilmU This is a great question Jonathon. I believe BOTH a mix of distraction and helpful. As long as the questions are thoughtfully crafted, this can be a great way to involve fun into the learning process. Sometimes the "choose name" part in the beginning can stir up chaos though!
@KviiilynM I believe AI can be a friend, if utilized properly. If abused and used to replace hard-work and creativity, then I do not agree with the overall integration of AI. I believe it should be used as a tool to help inspire, and an assistant when the teacher is not available.
@KviiilynM This is amazingly designed! When I was scrolling thru our hashtags, your design really caught my eye! I'm also heavily interested in AI as well! Great post Kaitlyn!
Throughout my EDT 6020 class, I plan on researching various topics about @OpenAI and learning more about their future developments, products, and emerging technology. They have certainly been one of the most interesting and influential tech companies in recent years. #wuedt6020
Memory is now available to all ChatGPT Plus users. Using Memory is easy: just start a new chat and tell ChatGPT anything you’d like it to remember.
Memory can be turned on or off in settings and is not currently available in Europe or Korea. Team, Enterprise, and GPTs to come.
