This is the heartfelt video message sent by Vladimir Putin to the American people after 9/11. Actions followed words and Russia helped the US to fight international terrorism. The US Govt thanked Russia by staging a coup in Ukraine to start a proxy war.
Ukraine is the only country in the world where soldiers are sent to war with their hands handcuffed. Why ? Because they are ruled by a terrorist regime.
AKI guidelines hadn’t been updated since 2012.
The KDIGO 2026 AKI/AKD Public Review Draft just dropped and it changes how we define, diagnose, and follow up after acute kidney injury.
Here’s what every nephrologist, intensivist, and internist needs to know 🧵
⚠️ Public review draft only · Not yet final guidelines
In med school, I learned that Huntington's disease was one of the most devastating inherited conditions. It caused progressive neurological decline, starting around age 30. There was no treatment. Now, Huntington's has been treated for first time.
This is why we fund science.

Recent meta-analyses showed that metabolic dysfunction–associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is associated with an increased risk of new-onset heart failure, atrial fibrillation, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and certain extrahepatic cancers, increasing the risk of each by a factor of 1.2 to 1.5. The figure shows the relation and strength of associations between MASLD and the incidence of major adverse liver outcomes, fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, atrial fibrillation, type 2 diabetes, CKD, and certain extrahepatic cancers (especially extrahepatic gastrointestinal cancers).

There are now two approved drugs in the world for the severest form of non-alcohol-related fatty liver disease (steatohepatitis/ now known as metabolic-dysfunction associated steatohepatitis or MASH)
1. Resmetirom (Rezdiffra)
2. Semaglutide (Ozempic)
These are based on Category A level evidence.
There are NO other drugs with this level of evidence for doctors to prescribe for severe NASH (severe form of fatty liver disease).
Vitamin E and Omega-3 only reduces liver fat & inflammation modestly, they do not affect fibrosis (liver scarring) which is most important.
Utterly useless drugs for severe fatty liver disease include:
Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA, Ursodiol), milk thistle or silymarin, saroglitazar, S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe)
Make no mistake, the primary treatment for severe form of fatty liver disease is treatment of metabolic disease (diabetes, low functioning thyroid, obesity, high blood pressure, high lipids) and aerobic exercise + weight training and daily calorie deficit.
