@stackerco@RestoredTruth8 You really love to hyper focus on small pieces to discredit those that argue against you. You did it in our convo about the Mormon Stories lawsuit. Now this. You ignore the argument as a whole and focus on the sensational
@stackerco@RestoredTruth8 Right. Your bias is ok, but us questioning the survey composition and self-selection bias is “not liking the data”
Here’s to hoping one day all you guys that have a part time job posting about us will understand you’re guilty of all the same things you say we are
An underlying issue of this debate over Torn is the inappropriate assumption of those outside and those who have left is source reliability. Acting as though ex members cannot remember incorrectly or rewrite past negatives. People do this all the time. Why is it not possible now?
So let’s get this story:
Stacked: Read torn you can’t refute his data that reinforces my reasons for leaving the church.
Dan: Here’s why the conclusions Jeff arrives with are incorrect.
Stacker: he’s biased don’t listen to him
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@RestoredTruth8@stackerco I always love the assumption that those who stay are brainwashed and lie to themselves and those who leave have been able to perfectly process their own experiences and 100% reliable sources. As if people who leave are incapable of lying to themselves or remember incorrectly
@planetJoseph@darkstartravels@LDS_Dems@StallionCornell Get off X and go talk to offline Mormons. Literally every in group has online weirdos, but you want to make broad generalizations and say our religion is toxic. Our leaders address this constantly, but it’s not their fault if members still don’t accept their council
@stackerco@ThoughtfulSaint Because it’s nice to know the biases of those writing the studies and supporting them. It’s natural to question data that challenges our presuppositions or beliefs. You and others also love to point out the limitations of data that support us all the time.
@DoBetter_@surskitmaxxing LOL yes and I don’t get to tell them what to do when they’re grown and going out on their own. I offer my assistance and opinions. They get the final say. It’s their day. They’re their own people, not my property
@GoWithJordan_@RandomLDS I’m not cherry-picking anything. Paul said the gospel was the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Other Christian groups are the ones that add on other qualifiers to exclude us and say we preach a different gospel
Mormonism preys on the young and gullible in our society, it's the only way this two-century old religious pyramid scheme can survive. LDS parents feel absolutely no guilt towards brainwashing children, because they have seared their own consciences.
Children often repeat what they've been programmed to believe, but when we reach the age of accountability, every adult must search for truth in this life. Previous to this current age of information, it was very difficult for young LDS members to research the true history behind this particular cult. This multi-billion dollar corporation went to great lengths over the years to buy up incriminating evidence on their founder in an attempt to whitewash their shady origins. Thankfully, the Internet is helping many LDS youth in this generation wake up from the nightmare of realizing everything they were raised to believe was a lie.
Lord, please intervene and break this cycle once and for all and show these innocent victims your peace that surpasses all understanding.
@Rultpwr I love how Protestants just can’t comprehend people not wanting to follow a God that saves people depending on what side of the bed he woke up on
