Electronics, Software & Firmware Design Engineer specialising in HV power supplies and automated test equipment. Also interested in Amateur Radio & 3D printing.
Looks like @bookingcom has been hacked again - email asking to confirm card for booking which even has previous message included to look legit but has phishing link.
Another batch of boards from @JLCPCB - ordered Thursday, arrived following Tuesday. 120 PCB's plus stencil for half the price of a single PCB from a local fab on a 10 day turnaround!
So the area I live in has clear signs stating it's a no cold calling zone. @NickGibbUK thinks that knocking on doors to talk his @Conservatives rubbish is not cold calling and continues to knock on elderly people's doors after being made aware!
@travisgoodspeed ...Eventually got it to work to specification but still felt it wasn't done the right way and was more of a bodge than a solution. My company was happy and so was the customer but I wasn't! 2/2
@travisgoodspeed I've been on the other side - inherited a 2 year old project which had already been heading in the wrong direction for too long but wasn't allowed to go back and change anything. Spent a further 2.5 years trying to make it work in its existing form and burnt myself out. 1/2
Looks like I won't be buying @Samsung again in a hurry. Surely all the filters (which are emptied every cycle) are supposed to stop fluff getting to the internals and motor (which has failed) in the drier?
My 7 year old daughter wants to learn to code. Which language is most suitable and can anyone recommend any good books for children around that age group? Things have changed a bit since I used to spend hours typing BASIC code from magazines and books into my C64!
Can't believe I've actually managed to find time to complete a project at home. Usually end up ordering parts for them to sit on a shelf for months/years!
Come on @MWApeRescue have you ever tried to get a 3YO to wear a hat let alone a mask! What about those medically exempt? Plus, visitors will be OUTDOORS where the risk is already minimised if you keep social distancing measures in place. #berealistic
Oops, should have checked the package type! That would be the reason I could buy 74 level converters for the price of 2 elsewhere! Back on eBay they go...
@LushLtd teach your warehouse staff to use suitable sized boxes.Your eco pops may supposedly be biodegradable (after you search online to find out) but 3/4 of a large bin bag full is rediculous! What's the point in reducing your item packaging to then be so wasteful when shipping?
Well that was a shock - phoned @EE to renew broadband and not only was I offered cheaper price than when first signed up (for same product), but also was the same deal a new customer would get! @Plusnet you could learn a thing or 2 from these guys as that's the reason I left you!
@BasOort@szczys You'll probably find that during the signs lifetime, it has had panels replaced. I work for a company that only recently stopped manufacturing flip-dot signs and their signs have a 10 year guarantee.
Yet another eBay purchase supplied with an illegal/dangerous mains plug - casing dimensions too small, pins not correct spacing and semi-insulated earth pin! Still shows CE and BS markings.
Watch out for #TheBigPrint this weekend!
@3dcrowduk volunteers, get your 3D printers ready! Watch out for an email tonight and posts in the Slack group about this.
