Cookie-Warnungen als Bankrotterklärung der EU-Bürokratie, als Monument der Unfähigkeit und des Scheiterns. Ganz wunderbarer Rant vom Autor des Web-Frameworks Ruby on Rails
I really like the term “context engineering” over prompt engineering.
It describes the core skill better: the art of providing all the context for the task to be plausibly solvable by the LLM.
BREAKING: MIT just completed the first brain scan study of ChatGPT users & the results are terrifying.
Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt.
Here's what 4 months of data revealed:
(hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)
It’s a hefty 206-page research paper, and the findings are concerning.
"LLM users consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels"
This study finds LLM dependence weakens the writer’s own neural and linguistic fingerprints. 🤔🤔
Relying only on EEG, text mining, and a cross-over session, the authors show that keeping some AI-free practice time protects memory circuits and encourages richer language even when a tool is later reintroduced.
Just a few minutes ago, President Trump signed an Executive Order to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.
The Reserve will be capitalized with Bitcoin owned by the federal government that was forfeited as part of criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings. This means it will not cost taxpayers a dime.
It is estimated that the U.S. government owns about 200,000 bitcoin; however, there has never been a complete audit. The E.O. directs a full accounting of the federal government’s digital asset holdings.
The U.S. will not sell any bitcoin deposited into the Reserve. It will be kept as a store of value. The Reserve is like a digital Fort Knox for the cryptocurrency often called “digital gold.”
Premature sales of bitcoin have already cost U.S. taxpayers over $17 billion in lost value. Now the federal government will have a strategy to maximize the value of its holdings.
The Secretaries of Treasury and Commerce are authorized to develop budget-neutral strategies for acquiring additional bitcoin, provided that those strategies have no incremental costs on American taxpayers.
IN ADDITION, the Executive Order establishes a U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile, consisting of digital assets other than bitcoin forfeited in criminal or civil proceedings.
The government will not acquire additional assets for the Stockpile beyond those obtained through forfeiture proceedings.
The purpose of the Stockpile is responsible stewardship of the government’s digital assets under the Treasury Department.
PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT
President Trump promised to create a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and Digital Asset Stockpile. Those promises have been kept.
This Executive Order underscores President Trump’s commitment to making the U.S. the “crypto capital of the world.”
I want to thank the President for his leadership and vision in supporting this cutting-edge technology and for his rapid execution in supporting the digital asset industry. His administration is truly moving at “tech speed.”
I also want to thank the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets — especially Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick — for their help and support in getting this done. Finally Bo Hines played a critical role as Executive Director of our Working Group.
OpenAI Deep Research is very good at doing market size research and calculations. It's so much better than Googling around and wondering if you should pay $5K for some research report.
@rileybrown_ai Would be interesting if you could organize them into groups, turn them on and off as groups, and share them, vote them etc. Would then basically be a lite version similar to controlling and the algorithm in a marketplace that @jack has been thinking about.
@elonmusk Welcome to the decentralization of education.
We’re transitioning from a system dominated by government or institutional control over education to one where companies prioritize skills and abilities, regardless of how or where they were obtained.
The current set of AI tools reminds me of the early days of the internet, with its related and/or competing technologies, like Usenet, Telnet, WAIS, FTP, Gopher and WWW/HTTP. Nobody yet knew which would succeed or fail. It was a time of curiosity, excitement -- and nervousness for some.
@agazdecki This is not a trend. It's just Carta marketing people trying to cultivate a new market.
There have always been a huge number of bootstrapped, single-founder companies. What matters is how common they are among the most successful companies, not how common they are overall.
Whether you like Sam or OpenAI or not
I still only use ChatGPT cause the iOS and MacOS and web app is just the best
It has the most features, like upload images, docs, even spreadsheets
It "just" works and well and is reliable
Claude's app is ugly, the font is offensive
Other platform ambigous LLM apps aren't as good as ChatGPT's app
My mom and dad now know what ChatGPT is, my dad uses ChatGPT all day, they have no idea what an LLM or Claude is, for them ChatGPT == AI
It keeps becoming more clear with time moat in AI isn't in the models necessarily
My app Photo AI uses lots of public AI models and puts them together in a user friendly interface
You could do everything you can do on Photo AI with separate models on other platforms, probably cheaper, but people don't care: 3000 customers pay me $120,000/month for ease of use
The moat in AI is in a great easy user experience and brand awareness I think
