A letter once bridged the distance. Today, it may be a phone call 📞
For families separated by armed conflict, even a few minutes of contact can change everything.
In 2025, together with Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, we facilitated nearly 4,000 phone calls every day to reconnect separated families.

Dos cúmulos globulares a 58.000 años luz en Coma Berenices. Compacto y brillante uno, tenue y disperso el otro. Misma edad, misma distancia, aspecto distinto. El fondo revela además tenues nubes de IFN interestelar. @PlanetarioMad#cielosESA
Local minima are extremely rare in high dimensional spaces, so if you ever feel stuck in a rut it’s probably just because you aren’t considering a wide enough set of orthogonal options
Hoodline featured the next chapter for downtown Clearwater’s restored historic Telephone Building: Rippers, a new casual American restaurant from Tastes Pretty Good Hospitality Group.
Coming to the building’s ground floor on Cleveland Street, Rippers will serve its signature deep-fried “ripper” hot dogs alongside burgers, wings, sandwiches, fries and handcrafted milkshakes in a casual neighborhood setting.

World's First Teleoperated Humanoid Robot Surgery 👀
"Researchers from the University of California San Diego demonstrated the world's first teleoperated humanoid robot assisting in surgery using the Unitree G1."
"The 29-DoF humanoid features 7-DoF arms for human-like manipulation. Its lower body was secured while a rigid surgical endoscope mounted on its arm provided precise visualization during the procedure."
"The robot was fully teleoperated using a Meta Quest 3 mixed-reality headset, handheld motion controllers, and real-time video from its onboard camera. The surgeon remotely controlled the robot's arm and wrist movements through the headset."
"It's designed to work in operating rooms built for humans, the study highlights the potential for general-purpose humanoid robots to become future surgical assistants."
🌌 The Universe Broke the Rules
Scientists checked the universe's expansion again using the James Webb Space Telescope—and the mystery only got bigger.
After studying over 1,000 stars, Webb confirmed Hubble's results. The conflicting measurements are real, meaning something important may be missing from our understanding of the universe.
Could this be the clue that changes modern physics forever?

Cursor crossed $4 billion in annualized revenue with 40 engineers and one PM. At a traditional company, a single one of their product surfaces would get a squad of 15 to 20. The whole product org got rebuilt around three roles that barely resemble the old ones.
The PM who used to write specs now curates outcomes. Once agents verify their own work at the point of generation and humans review the result instead of the line-by-line diff, the 30-page PRD is wasted motion.
The engineer stopped writing most of the code. Jensen Huang said it plainly: pay someone $500K, and if they don't burn at least $250K in tokens by year end, he's deeply alarmed. Token spend became the proxy for delegation. The best ones run several agents in parallel and review the output. Watch an agent work and you're wasting your time.
Designers at the frontier barely touch Figma until the end. When anyone can generate a clean interface in minutes, the scarce skill becomes taste. Judgment about what the thing should be is now the entire job.
What connects all three: building stopped being the expensive part. A task that took an engineer ten hours takes ten minutes. One large enterprise scoped a modernization project at 10 engineers and 12 months. Two people with Codex shipped it in three days.
So seniority, domain expertise, and years on a specific stack stopped predicting who wins. The signal that does: builder mentality. The people pulling ahead feel physical discomfort every time they do something by hand that an agent could have done.
