“We don’t know anything about #fibroids and #endometriosis because the @NIH doesn’t fund it” is something I say to patients nearly every week. The damning evidence continues to show we do not value people who need OB/gyn services. @AJOG_thegray

“If a fibroid is causing these symptoms, then it should be evaluated by a physician, and a treatment plan should be created. Fibroids that interfere with one’s quality of life should not be ignored,” @MigsRunner speaks with @SurvivorNetTeam —>

Fantastic surgical grand rounds @ProvSwedish on OR sustainability, recycle and re use by @MigsRunner . Inspiring her focus on the impact of the OR on the environment and data to improve.
Often women patient feel “gaslit” because doctors do not recognize or diagnose their symptoms or do not offer effective treatment.
The issue is lack of #research, #data, correct guidelines.
@Babbling_Beaver@LindaGGriffith1 Reducing healthcare's carbon emissions by reducing the excessive consumption & waste of single use items that don't improve patient care, in fact, cause harm and drive inflationary healthcare costs. Reduction is a win-win-win for patients, healthcare finances, and the planet.
I had one of the surgeons involved in this (@migsrunner) speak at my Open Endoscopy Forum a couple of years ago, although I groaned a bit when she gave the title, she had awesome practical insights driven by hard core data. She made me a convert to the mission (at least as she implements it). It checks boxes of practicality across many dimensions having nothing to do with green behavior but just common sense and improved patient care. I could not believe it, but it is a hugely interesting and valuable movement.
Viewpoint: Moving towards a more "green" practice of medicine, by prioritizing sustainability and reusable devices, allows us to reinvest in the health of patients and the health of future generations. https://t.co/8oAIcP5n9m
@ddonoho@acog@gynoncjnls The biggest issue is poorly integrated video systems preventing ease of upload and automatic labeling/editing of our videos. The USB is still alive and well sadly.
