“I am addressing young people here who are aspiring to be leaders. It is in your capacity, in your ability, in every possibility, to give your life a purpose and to make a choice. A choice that you know if you have made it, it is not just going to be confined to your life, but has impact on other people’s lives.
That is why it’s important when people are talking about why we should work together, continentally. Because not working together, what purpose does it serve? Who benefits from it? I just want to say, give it a try, you fail, you make a loss here, you make a gain here, but you stay the course. Keep going.” President Kagame | Africa Mindset Reset Forum 2026
The #MindsetReset2026 is underway in #Kigali, and some of the clearest thinking is coming straight from people who have led change in Africa.
A few lines from day one worth sitting with:
🔸 President Paul Kagame on closing the gap between what we say and what we do.
🔸 Former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on why change only holds when the masses buy in, not just the political and business elites.
🔸 Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on the difference between an Africa we want and an Africa we are willing to sacrifice for.
What has to change in how we think before Africa can change? Swipe through, and tell us which one stays with you.

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana, H.E. Thabo Mbeki, Former President of the Republic of South Africa, Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank, for a conversation on the Forum’s theme: “From Pan-Africanism to Meta-Africanism”. The discussion will explore how Africa can build on the dignity and solidarity of Pan-Africanism to establish Meta-Africanism as its next chapter, resetting how the continent thinks, leads, builds and educates. #MindsetReset2026

Unlike visible physical hazards such as sharp tools, heavy loads, unsafe installations, and dust, psychological risks are often unseen but equally damaging. Isolation, harassment, and long working hours without breaks all require our collective attention and action. Preventing burnout starts with fostering supportive work environments, encouraging open communication, ensuring adequate rest, and promoting balanced workloads.
