Numeral

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

Most folks don’t know that the inspo for @numeral was my own experience trying to deal with sales tax in 40+ states.

Fast forward to today, the puzzle has only gotten more complex. Ah yes, Matt, the gold coins in the Discord server.

Numeral has raised a $100M Series C, led by Insight Partners with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Mayfield, Uncork, Y Combinator, FCVC, and Geodesic.

This brings our total funding to $157M.

@numeral solves U.S. sales tax, VAT, and GST compliance for 3,500+ global businesses, trusted by companies like Supabase, Eight Sleep, and Graza.

We’re building the future of tax -- where AI agents, human expertise, and global compliance come together in one system.

Since starting the business in 2023, we’ve grown quickly across our core e-commerce and software segments, while expanding into new industries including manufacturing, distribution, and wholesale.

There is a lot of work in front of us. Sales tax is more dynamic than ever, with states like California implementing new taxes on software and more states using AI for enforcement.

We are hiring across the org from engineering to product, sales, and marketing. And we’ve just opened our new office in NYC. If you are looking for what’s next, I’d love for you to take a peek at our careers page.

Excited for the year ahead. And humbled to be working with investors like @insightpartners, @rebeccaliudoyle, @SalesforceVC, @katiessschwartz, @ZKokosa, @MayfieldFund, @SPangulur, @benchmark, @chetanp, @ycombinator, @gustaf, @uncorkcap, @susanwliu, @GeodesicCap, @arvindayyala, @FundersClub, @mittal, @mantisVC, @AlexPallNY, @ShaanVP, @lennysan, @moizali, @ringmybeller, @khency6, @asturnerr, @maariabajwa and so many others.

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

We just launched @Numeral's MCP server. It provides direct access to nearly everything available in Numeral, including completed filings, nexus status, and ECM uploads/management.

A big step for us! Making sales tax infrastructure easier to build into any platform.

[Numeral @numeral]

@jeiting @MaxHirsch13 Yes to what @jeiting says! If you are selling outside of the App Store, feel free to create an account on numeral and connect your stripe or other account to get a free “nexus study” that tells you where you have tax exposure.

Thrilled to share that @Numeral received three new badges as part of G2’s Spring 2026 analysis of Sales Tax and VAT Compliance Software providers.

While the High Performer and Momentum Leader badges are great, I’m partial to the Easiest To Do Business With badge.

We’ve got an incredible team here that has made things easy for more than 2,500 businesses.🥇

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

Excited to share that we’ve partnered with @airwallex to launch Settle, bringing global remittance and payment automation to more than 2,500 businesses that trust us for sales tax, VAT, and GST.

With @numeral, we handle the registrations, filings, and tax rates. And with our newest product, Settle, our customers can remit the exact amount due on time without manually initiating wire transfers to global tax authorities.

It’s less operational overhead. For a business filing in 10 countries, it likely means 50+ hours/year saved.

It’s less surface area for human error, too. Say goodbye to currency conversions!

@numeral 🤝 @getjustpaid

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

Excited to share that @numeral now integrates with @getjustpaid, the intelligent accounts receivable platform that automates invoicing, collections, and revenue workflows.

What’s fun is that this has been a long-time coming. I got to know @danielkivatinos and @AnelyaGrant through our @ycombinator W23 batch. And we’ve been itching to work with them since those early days.

With Numeral’s integration, users can automatically drop accurate tax calculations into every invoice. And it all rolls up to our global compliance platform.

JustPaid will help you get paid faster. And Numeral handles sales tax and VAT/GST.

To kick things off, we are co-hosting a dinner together in SF later tonight. It’s part of JustPaid’s CFO series, and I hope to see you there!

Thrilled to share that @numeral now integrates with @Meet_campfire.

With this new integration and partnership, Campfire customers can automatically apply accurate tax rates to every invoice, whether it’s generated from the CRM or created manually in Campfire.

It’s always great to partner with fellow @ycombinator companies. Cheers to @john__glasgow and everyone at Campfire who made this integration possible! 🙏

Say hello to @numeral.com 🚀

Same great sales tax solution. Shorter URL.

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

It’s getting HOT in Times Square! Thank you @brexHQ for putting @numeral on the big screen. What’s crazy is that in 1904, when Times Square got its name, there wasn’t any retail sales tax in the U.S.

It wasn’t until 1930 that Mississippi became the first state to adopt a true retail sales tax, meaning it was charged at the point of sale to the consumer.

Fast forward 121 years, and we’ve got an AI-native solution for U.S. sales tax and VAT compliance! 🚀

[Sam Ross @SpamRoss]

If you want to see an AI agent work the worst job on the planet, watch as Numeral’s tax agent navigates a state sales tax portal.

Every time you remit sales tax, you basically have to navigate portals like this. I say “like this” because there are 50 states and 190+ countries, so of course no two are the same.

Thankfully, it all boils down to a bunch of data entry and confusing rules to interpret and follow. So to an AI agent (like Numeral’s), it’s a breeze.

But still, even fancy Cisco hold music can’t save how annoying this is. And if you’re a founder, you have to do this hundreds of times.

Thanks to our team for making this happen; I wouldn’t wish this task on my worst enemy!

(h/t @browserbase and @pk_iv - we use BrowserBase under the hood to run this, and couldn’t imagine it any other way)

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this…

[Numeral @numeral]

According to recent reports, @numeral and @useOrb have officially partnered and integrated their leading platforms, Numeral for sales tax and VAT, and Orb for pricing, billing, and revenue design.

With this new partnership and integration, Orb and Numeral customers will be able to:

• Pipe accurate tax rates into every invoice

• Sleep easy with audit-ready reporting and the Numeral guarantee.

Two peas in a pod → scale revenue and compliance together. 🚀

[TBPN @tbpn]

.@SpamRoss (Co-Founder & CEO of @Numeral) discusses expanding globally and the challenges of international compliance:

"We're the only player that can actually go and register and file in 60+ countries. If you’re making a consumer AI app and selling to users in Tanzania, we’ve got you covered."

He added a warning for founders: "You don't want to mess with countries like Mexico. It’s a pretty new phenomenon that companies are putting the credit card down in the local country on day one."

[Numeral @numeral]

Tune into @tbpn today at 1:30 PST to see @SpamRoss chat with @johncoogan and @jordihays about Numeral's $35M Series B!

[TBPN @tbpn]
