@ValueStockGeek This shows 15% of household income basically disappearing over 2 years, wiping out 30 years of more gradual lifestyle shifts. An absolutely massive jump.
Am I the only one that thinks the FOMC is being smarmy with their “approved the following statement for release by” vote count? 12-0 with that language only means they all agreed to release the statement, not that there were no policy dissents .

@MappingFL Shah got a narrow plurality of 1st place votes in the district, but its unlikely he was the preferred choice of a majority, as Jackson/Pingree/Bellows had put together a RCV alliance, and all have more CD2 appeal (Pingree is from just outside). Same reason he lost statewide.
@ME_Politics_@AnthonyMEmerson@KingRicci Jackson makes sense if you are trying to find the most similar candidate. But he didn’t really do great in the gov primary. Bellows looks like she was the more preferred candidate.
@jpklees@mattyglesias Yeah, definitely more mountainous on the Maine side. Fewer mountains as you go north along the border, mountains separate that area of Maine from more populated areas.
@CliffordAsness I agree health insurance is not really insurance. But that’s the way the system was pre-Obamacare. Also, I’d argue that most people understand that Obamacare was direct taxation for government largesse. Not really a secret.
@CliffordAsness Oof. I’ve witnessed Cliff Asness “you should read the article” tweets, but never been on the receiving end. That said, my point was about 1)the flaw and limited coverage of insurance and 2)getting locked out of the health insurance market altogether.
