புதுச்சேரியில் திராவிட மாடல் ஆட்சி நிச்சயம்! அதுவே எங்கள் லட்சியம்! அதிக பெண் வாக்காளர்களை கொண்ட புதுச்சேரியில் பெண்களுக்கான முக்கியத்துவத்தை அரசியல் களத்தில் ஏற்படுத்துவேன். தந்தை பெரியார், பேரறிஞர் அண்ணா, முத்தமிழறிஞர் தலைவர் கலைஞர், கழகத்தலைவர் தளபதியார் @mkstalin, கழகத்தின் துணைப் பொதுச்செயலாளர் அக்கா @KanimozhiDMK வழியில் பெண்களுக்கான உரிமைக்களத்தில் எப்போதும் கொள்கையோடு அணியின் நிர்வாகிகளுடன் இணைந்து செயலாற்றுவேன்! @DMKWomensWing

Arignar Anna -- who left us too soon, but lives forever in our hearts -- would not have liked it if paying homage to his memory was a mere ritual act. This Tamil legend who captured our hearts, also seized our imagination when he set out to rewrite our fates.

Like all legends, most of what I knew about him was what was etched in public memory.

Thanthai Periyar is the Dravidian Revolutionary, Arignar Anna is the unchallenged Dravidian Ideologue. Where his mentor sought to change society through a revolution of minds, Anna -- in the legislative tradition of both the Justice Party and Dr Ambedkar -- changed society through the power of the state, as have his proteges who have become Chief Ministers after him – Thalaivar Kalaignar, and our Hon'ble CM @mkstalin.

When I entered public life at the age of 50, I started reading more of his work. What mesmerizes me is his sheer genius, and his gradual transformation from a pure intellectual who could stir action through provocative polemic, to a nuanced Statesman and Chief Minister. A staunch federalist, he epitomised what standing up to power looks like.

Though he left us too soon, his impact on society persists through the actions of his dedicated followers.
