@Freya5842 If I remember correctly, it was a shiny tentacool back in Silver when I was 8-9yo.
And if we don't count it since it couldn't be transferred, a Zubat back in Sapphire, in Shoal Cave.

B12 maintains myelin through two separate pathways. Both fail at the same time when B12 drops.
Pathway one: B12 converts homocysteine into methionine, which becomes SAMe. SAMe builds the lipid components myelin is made of. No B12, no SAMe, lipid synthesis stalls.
Pathway two: B12 clears a metabolic byproduct called methylmalonic acid. Without it, abnormal fatty acids get incorporated into the myelin sheath itself. The structure degrades from the inside.
Here is what makes this dangerous. In the Lindenbaum 1988 NEJM study, 28% of patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms from B12 deficiency had completely normal blood counts. No anemia. No macrocytosis. The myelin was already degrading with nothing on the CBC to flag it.
Caught early, repletion can reverse it. Caught late, the demyelination can be permanent.
A normal B12 blood test does not rule this out. MMA is the more sensitive marker.

Influenza remains an important cause of illness and death. In a phase 3 trial, a nucleoside-modified mRNA (modRNA) quadrivalent vaccine was found to be superior to a standard quadrivalent vaccine in preventing influenza illness. Full trial results and Research Summary: https://t.co/abDJHVnne3
There’s a lot of misleading advice online about “cutting out sugar” or going keto for cancer.
A new Cell study shows the biology is far more complex. When glucose is heavily restricted, tumours can release signals that weaken the immune cells that normally protect the lungs, making it easier for cancer cells to settle there.
Nutrition in cancer care is nuanced & should be guided by qualified professionals - not social media. #LCSM https://t.co/GMefBtOYIK
In a new Science study, researchers show that lysosomes, degradative organelles activated by food limitation, stimulate epigenetic changes that contribute to transgenerational longevity in C. elegans.

🎗️ Nobel Prize 2025: When immune tolerance met tumor escape!
Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell & Shimon Sakaguchi win for discovering regulatory T cells (Tregs) - the body’s immune “brakes.”
🔬 In oncology, these same brakes often shield tumors from immune attack.
Their discovery paved the way for:
✅ Checkpoint inhibitors
✅ CAR-T refinements
✅ Treg-depleting strategies
💡 From autoimmunity to cancer therapy- the same cells hold both keys!

Some fun numbers about the "speeds" of cells:
1. Sugar molecules move at ~250 mph in a cell, about 2x the speed of a Cessna 172 plane.
2. Every protein is hit by ten trillion water molecules each second.
3. ATP synthase (which makes ATP) spins around 8,040 times per minute.
