Astrobiologist at the Kennedy Space Center, excited about life beyond Earth and its terrestrial applications for food security and conservation ecology
You sent your troops here without fuel, food, water or a place to sleep.
Here they are — being forced to sleep on the floor, piled on top of one another.
If anyone is treating our troops disrespectfully, it is you @realDonaldTrump.
This is how Donald Trump treats his troops.
Disgraceful.
“The troops — whose makeshift quarters are shown in photographs exclusively obtained by the Chronicle — arrived without federal funding for food, water, fuel, equipment or lodging, said the source, who was granted confidentiality under Chronicle policies. This person said state officials and the California National Guard were not to blame…
“This is what happens when the president and (Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth) demand the National Guard state assets deploy immediately with no plan in place … (and) no federal funding available for food, water, fuel and lodging,” the source said. “This is really the failure of the federal government. If you’re going to federalize these troops, then take care of them.”

Stopped by the @ufastraeus booth to check out the new UF Astraeus Space Institute at @ISS_CASIS’s ISSRDC conference!! Love this university - @UF has the most space for space!! 🚀 @UF@UFexplore@UFNews
Huge congratulations to Dr. Rob Ferl on being announced as an astronaut on the upcoming @blueorigin flight! @NASASpaceSci@NASA_Technology @UFexpore
Want to learn more about how the UF Space Plants Lab has been preparing for space flight? Stay tuned for more details!
Dr Paul giving a talk on @UF campus today for @UF_ICBR Research Day 2024! Discussing the @NASASpaceSci experiment of epigenetic effects of spaceflight on plants! Work also supported by @UF_IFAS@UFexplore

When we bring samples back from outer #space, how can we make sure any microbe hitchhikers don’t become Earthly pathogens?
Meet the #UF EPI team working on a @NASA-funded project to sterilize space microbes using ozone: https://t.co/bz74C3hgF6.
Our friends @redwire saw to the safe return of our spaceflight samples today. The leaves from the PH-03B experiment were harvested by astronauts to RNAlater on the ISS and then stored in a cryogenic freezer while in the station. They were kept at -80 in their journey home.
Increasing plant productivity is his passion. 🍅 Meet Dr. Simon Gilroy. His investigation on growing plants w/ microbes is headed to the @Space_Station! Learn about his research & other experiments on @northropgrumman's commercial resupply mission here: https://t.co/ngXgH0aZnk
The @Space_Station Antimicrobial Coating experiment aims to develop technology to inhibit microbial growth shortly after contact. The experiment studies the performance of the coating against microbes deposited via the crew's touch and station air. https://t.co/b7M9NyASIw
