Have you ever wondered how mitochondrial and cytosolic pathways for de novo lipogenesis (DNL) interact?

We did!

Published Online today (https://t.co/l05A4qyCx1) and led by first-author @adam_rauckhorst, we traced 13C-labeled lactate/pyruvate, acetate, the ketone acetoacetate, and leucine in several mouse models of disrupted hepatic mitochondrial and cytosolic acetyl-CoA generating pathways.

Surprisingly, deleting the mitochondria citrate carrier (CiC) increased DNL from both exogeneous and leucine-generated acetoacetate. Overall, our findings delineate a mitochondrial-cytosolic DNL substrate supply network that may guide more accurate therapeutic development for MASLD and T2D.

Heartiest congratulations to Sri NCB and the NDA partners for a remarkable success in AP in a defining election. The people emphatically rejected the notion of governance as individual, short-term welfare alone at the cost of long-term collective needs and economic growth. And voters gave a strong message that power given by them is to be exercised for public good, and not for private gain and personal despotism.

Now the new government has the onerous task of bringing fiscal discipline, promoting inclusive growth and establishing rule of law. AP suffered a severe setback over the past five years, and all of us in the civil society and market should help the government to fulfill its mission.

We need to restructure welfare to make it sustainable and productive, focus on educational outcomes with skills and quality healthcare to enhance productivity, and promote small town development and in situ urbanisation to create inclusive growth.

The new government needs our best wishes and support in the coming days and years in the quest for putting the state on the path of inclusive growth and success.
