#ChronicIllness Please consider calling your Senators if you are in the US. The cap on residencies affects physicians from marginalized groups the most, leaving many of us unable to find care with physicians who share our background, which helps us feel heard as patients.

ERAS has become the AAMC’s cash cow, with revenue (and revenue growth) that far outpaces their other programs.

In 2019, ERAS took in $94 million in revenue - more than doubling its revenue from a decade before.

Unfortunately this isn’t the only person this has happened to this cycle. I personally know of 2 other instances. One where I alerted an applicant the other where I was asked by an applicant to check who was alerted by another program. There needs to be ✔️and balances

@Z_sheed @mahad_minhas @sammi_scarola @DavidJSkorton Same! Filed a claim that was "escalated" but no updates so far. Thankfully, had author reupload when I discovered issue. Asked ERAS to notify programs on my behalf. Apparently, that feature is 'not available'. You can't even export a list of prgrm emails. Had to do it manually.

It’s unacceptable that medical students pay for ERAS applications and programs they apply to can and do regularly ghost them.

It’s crazy that we require students (who are largely prohibited from having income) to pay for job applications at all but this is unacceptable.
