@JellyBelly4353@stephenjnesbitt@Ken_Rosenthal@CodyStavenhagen Strikeouts and walks aren't boring. If you don't like the battle between the pitcher and the batter, then you shouldn't complain when you don't enjoy the sport... hard to like baseball if you find the majority of it (pitcher vs. batter) boring.
BREAKING: Lane Kiffin is leaving LSU to become the new ayatollah of Iran:
"I will forever cherish my 3 months in Baton Rouge but becoming Supreme Leader is the next chapter in my career." 🇮🇷
@rich_coupe @TsarFlatEarth @DelusionPosting That's pretty close to the flight paths on the flat earth models that place the north pole at the center and anarctica around the edge. [look at a flat earth map and draw a straight line between]
It's the southern hemisphere flights which vary greatly between the two models.
@CSkorina@BBGreatMoments It doesn't apply here because there's no double play potential unless the batter-runner stands at home plate.
If there were runners at 1st and 2nd, this is an infield fly right away.
@tolerateitmax@BaseballWRLD_ The error in your second paragraph is that the problem was pace, not game length. Game length is often used as a proxy for pace, but it's not the point itself.
@Mattatthebank@soxrangerpain@tylermilliken_ Hm. This is definitely the mindset I'd expected out of the major league teams that most struggle with baserunning and infield defense...
@P_Brennan13@tylermilliken_ .880 xBA is very good right?
Perhaps the outfielder at your average MLB park is more out-of-position to get to this ball than at Fenway? It woudn't surprise me that Fenway in particular would hav the most wonky hits for xBA vs reality.
@J0farr@tylermilliken_ If he gets a good jump, he jogs into the wall instead of jumping into it.
It's a 95% catch probability play, it's just a bad read... we can debate whether or not this particular hit is harder to read than average, of course! But whatever the reason is, it was a bad jump.
@JMikeMLB@NCAABaseball "who fkn cares how it's done"
Because some ways of getting it done are more condusive to low ERA than others. Leave a pitcher in and he'll eventually record some outs, but it might be after 5+ runs of damage.
@KarwoskiDavid@SSN_Jays@shackalicious Devil's advocate, perhaps they mean that they were AP and Coach's Poll #1 both? I suspect they are aware that they didn't get all #1 votes by every pollster, but they were still the #1 overall in both polls, and quite decisively so.
@joelvmoran Nobody ever mentions that the long 2 almost never gets fouled either. The and-1 rate for 3s and long 2s is almost the same, low in both cases. Makes the efficiency of an already bad shot even worse.
