The charts in the attached graphic tell a simple story that is covered in detail in Ch 25 of "India@100: Envisioning Tomorrow's Economic Powerhouse".
Indiaโs credit-to-GDP ratio is far below the global level. Credit to micro and small enterprises remains a fraction of that going to large businesses. Rural credit per capita is a fraction of urban credit, while the East and North-East remain severely credit deprived.
And UPI is generating something India has historically lacked: a digital record of economic activity.
A small entrepreneur who was once โcredit invisibleโ can, with consent, build a verifiable cash-flow history through UPI. Banks can use that information to underwrite credit, earn interest income and reach millions of previously credit-rationed borrowers.
That is the win-win way to monetise UPI: Free transactions โ better information โ more credit โ more enterprise โ more investment, jobs and growth.
And the margins on credit are far greater than the margins on payment transactions.
Charging for the transaction does NOT create economic value.
Charging for credit DOES create economic value.
So focus on using UPI to deepen Indiaโs credit markets, not on turning UPI into another source of transaction revenue.
The lessons from South Korea are compelling: deeper credit can drive manufacturing, exports and income growth.
Donโt tax the rail. Use the rail to build Indiaโs credit economy.

I am glad to have a former officer of the Indian Air Force as a colleague -shri N. Uttam Kumar Reddy garu.
Indeed, Telugu people have been at the forefront in joining the Armed Forces and serving their motherland.
Join me in sharing our gratitude and respect for our forces, our men and women in uniform, present and past, our soldiers, our best and greatest people, who are forever willing to give up their today for our better and safer tomorrow.

I studied in RSS-run Vidya Bharati schools from nursery to Class 8. My father sat in the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (the highest decision-making body of the RSS). Our house had the Ram Charit Manas, the Geeta, all four Vedas, and shelves of RSS literature. The school library had more.
In all those years I never once heard the word Manusmriti.
Not because it was defended. Because it was irrelevant.
Rahul Gandhi grew up on comics (Not Chach Chaudhary but the one imported from the UK). I would be surprised if he had read the Bible, growing up. So when someone read him selective shlokas from a Manusmriti over a depressing weekend, he thought he had cracked open the secret operating manual of a billion Hindus. He found a nothing burger.
Mark this post. Count how many times he says "Manusmriti" during the 2029 campaign. My prediction: zero. By then he will have worked out that it matters to no one. But by then it will be too late. The Left will have burned another cycle on a low IQ leader who cannot tell an exposรฉ from a nothing burger.
So let me put it to the only people who would actually know.
If you went to a Vidya Bharati school: did you ever read Manusmriti? Was it assigned, mentioned, or on any shelf?
And if not, then how old were you when you first heard the name, and who brought it up? In what context?
Answer honestly, even if it cuts against my argument. Let's help a low IQ opposition because whether you like him or not, a democracy needs robust opposition.
1/Around 150 BCE a Greek king cornered a Buddhist monk with a single question: if there is no soul, what is it that gets reborn? Buddhism spent the next centuries giving two very different answers to that one question. The second, from Nฤgฤrjuna, is the stranger of the two. A thread. ๐งตโธ๏ธ๐ชท๐ 1/20
Why didn't RBI's rate cuts translate into lower bond yields?
India's public debt is on a sustainable path, yet the latest easing cycle revealed that monetary policy transmission is becoming increasingly vulnerable to global shocks. The article explains how crude oil prices, US interest rates, capital flows and the structure of India's government bond market can weaken the link between RBI policy rates and long-term borrowing costsโand why debt management is now as important as debt sustainability.

Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy.
Not might. Not could. Will โ if nothing changes.
The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled.
The conclusion is one sentence.
"At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand."
An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody.
Here is how you get there.
A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself.
Because the workers who were fired were also customers.
When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs โ which means automating more workers โ which means less spending โ which means more falling demand โ which means more automation.
The loop has no natural exit.
The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements.
Every single one failed in the model.
The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax โ a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger.
No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it.
Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion."
Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem.
Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it.
Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place.

Legendary NT Rama Rao who gave distinct identity to Telugus and who fought for upholding federal principles and Telugu pride must be turning in his grave.
Sad part is that his immediate family members - daughter @PurandeswariBJP, son-in-law @ncbn, son Nandamuri Balakrishna and grand son @naralokesh are actively collaborating in mortgaging the interests of Telugu people. Their support to the Delimitation bill disguised as womenโs reservation bill runs against the very principles that NTR stood for.
It is a total surrender of interests of Telugu people to the Centre, which NTR rightly described as โmythโ in true spirit of the Constitution.

Andhra identity is over 2,000 years old.
Pradesh isnโt even a Telugu word.
Maybe itโs time the state is simply called โAndhraโ.
Consider this. @ncbn@naralokesh@PawanKalyan@AndhraPradeshCM
Indiaโs labour codes and the 51% union recognition rule can improve bargaining, but fixed-term employment may weaken union participation and dispute resolution.
