This is the power of social media. An elderly man went to file a complaint at the Bichhiwara police station (Dungarpur district) in Rajasthan.

There, he met a police constable by the name of Reena Garg, who seemed uninterested in his complaint.

Thereafter, in a bizarre display of unprofessional behaviour, the constable placed both of her feet on the table.

This was done in complete disregard of basic etiquette towards an elderly individual.

Fortunately, someone at that police station took a picture of Reena and posted it on social media.

And the Rajasthan police was forced to take cognisance.

Dungarpur SP Manish Kumar acted swiftly and suspended the disgraced cop.

The police are appointed to serve the public. But this viral image shows how some entitled cops behave when they are supposed to serve the people's interests.

Thanks to social media, even the police cannot escape accountability now!

🚨 Andheri West Subway Visit – Public Wants Accountability, Not Photo Opportunities. 🚨

Yesterday, officials from MyBMC K/West Ward, including engineers, the Ward Officer, the Standing Committee Chairman, the Mayor of Mumbai, and other senior authorities, visited the Andheri West Subway. However, the visit has raised serious concerns among citizens.

The public wants to ask a simple question: Was this visit conducted to solve long-pending civic issues, or was it merely a photo opportunity? The officials arrived, inspected the site for a short time, and left, but no concrete action plan or accountability was presented to the people.

More than ₹100 crore of public money has reportedly been spent on the Andheri West Subway over the years. But within 10 mints Rains water start logging into it. Citizens have the right to know where these funds were utilized, what infrastructure was actually created, and why flooding and drainage problems continue despite such massive expenditure. According to our study, there is zero accountability regarding the utilization of these public funds, raising serious concerns about possible corruption and financial irregularities.

We demand an independent inquiry into the role of the contractors, consultants, and officers responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, and maintenance of the subway project.

Several major issues continue to remain ignored:

- MILLIONAIRE HERITAGE DEVELOPERS allegedly constructed a slab over a major storm-water drain (nala), restricting the natural flow of rainwater.

- VARDHAMAN DEVELOPERS have allegedly narrowed the width of the nala for private benefit, further affecting drainage capacity.

- Despite repeated complaints, the concerns raised by the LOCAL CORPORATOR and MLA have reportedly received no effective response from the concerned authorities.

- From the Andheri West Subway to Star Bazaar, both sides of the nala continue to face massive encroachments, while no meaningful nala widening or restoration project has been carried out.

The people deserve transparency, accountability, and action—not symbolic inspections. Public infrastructure funded by taxpayers must be audited, and if any corruption or negligence is found, strict action should be taken against all responsible officials, contractors, and beneficiaries.

Enough of inspections for photographs. It is time for accountability, transparency, and justice for the people of Andheri West.

On one of the world's busiest suburban railway systems, that carries 6.8 to 8 million passengers daily, the Police meant to protect it is severely understaffed.

Mumbai's Government Railway Police (GRP) has just ONE police personnel for every 2000 passengers, says Railway activist Sameer Zaveri.

According to 2025 GRP data, 693 constabulary posts and 85 officer-level posts remain vacant.

This requires a PIL. Ideally the Bombay high court should take it up suo moto. We were promised that expensive concerted roads, which take forever to complete would not be touched for decades. Why isn’t there serious accountability ans explanation when a concerted road is dug up? Only when the @mybmc commissioner is summoned before court and asked to explain, will things BEGIN to change!

भ्रष्टाचार में फंसा पैदल चलने का अधिकार! 🚨

​अखबारों के आंकड़े चीख-चीख कर कह रहे हैं कि दिल्ली-एनसीआर में 44% सड़कों पर फुटपाथ ही नहीं हैं और राहगीर लगातार सड़क दुर्घटनाओं का शिकार हो रहे हैं। लेकिन यह सिर्फ एक कागजी खबर नहीं है, यह दक्षिण दिल्ली के लाखों निवासियों का रोजमर्रा का दर्द है।

​कागजी दावों से इतर, हम प्रशासन का ध्यान विशेष रूप से #इग्नू_रोड, #देवली_रोड, #संगम_विहार से #बत्रा_अस्पताल जाने वाले मार्ग और #रतिया_मार्ग की नरकीय स्थिति की ओर खींचना चाहते हैं।

​सबसे बड़ी और कड़वी सच्चाई यह है कि इन मार्गों पर पहले तो #फुटपाथ नाम की कोई चीज ही नहीं है! और अगर कहीं भूल से थोड़ा-बहुत फुटपाथ बन भी गया है, तो वह बेतहाशा अतिक्रमण के नीचे दबकर पूरी तरह से अदृश्य हो चुका है।

​इस घोर अव्यवस्था का सबसे अधिक और सीधा खामियाजा हमारे छोटे बच्चों, बुजुर्गों और महिलाओं को भुगतना पड़ता है। उनके लिए घर से बाहर निकलकर इन सड़कों पर कुछ कदम चलना भी अपनी जान हथेली पर रखने के बराबर है।

​🛑 इग्नू रोड और देवली रोड: यहां #दुकानदारों ने सड़क तक अपनी दुकानें बढ़ा ली हैं। रही-सही जगह #रेहड़ी_पटरी और #अवैध_पार्किंग ने निगल ली है। ऐसे में स्कूल जाते बच्चे और बुजुर्ग भारी ट्रैफिक के बीचों-बीच चलने को मजबूर हैं। क्या प्रशासन किसी बड़े हादसे का इंतजार कर रहा है?

​🛑 संगम विहार से बत्रा रोड: मुख्य मार्ग और अस्पताल को जोड़ने वाले इस अहम रास्ते पर इतना #भयानक_अतिक्रमण है कि यहां पैदल चलना तो दूर, इमरजेंसी में #एंबुलेंस तक फंस जाती है। महिलाएं और मरीज भारी वाहनों के बीच से रास्ता तलाशने को विवश हैं।

​🛑 रतिया मार्ग: यहां सड़कों और किनारों पर स्थायी व अस्थायी कब्जों की भरमार है। प्रशासन कभी-कभार दिखावे के लिए कार्रवाई करता है और अगले ही दिन #अतिक्रमण वापस आ जाता है, जो स्पष्ट रूप से स्थानीय एजेंसियों की मिलीभगत को दर्शाता है।

​जब देश की शीर्ष अदालतें और #दिल्ली_हाईकोर्ट बार-बार फुटपाथों को राहगीरों के लिए सुरक्षित और खाली करने का आदेश दे रही हैं, तो @MCD_Delhi, @DelhiPwd और @DelhiPolice किस बात की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं?

​इन कॉलोनियों के निवासी भी टैक्स देते हैं, फिर उनके हिस्से में सिर्फ #अतिक्रमण से घिरी सड़कें और #दुर्घटना का डर क्यों?

हमें दिखावटी कार्रवाई नहीं, स्थायी समाधान चाहिए। इग्नू रोड, देवली रोड, रतिया मार्ग और संगम विहार-बत्रा रोड को पूरी तरह अतिक्रमण मुक्त किया जाए और यहां सुरक्षित पैदल मार्ग बनाए जाएं। फुटपाथ राहगीरों का मौलिक अधिकार हैं, भू-माफियाओं और भ्रष्ट तंत्र की कमाई का जरिया नहीं!

🚨 Deadly Road Patch on Andheri–Ghatkopar Link Road Raises Serious Safety Concerns 🚨

A dangerous road patch has emerged on the Andheri–Ghatkopar Link Road near the newly constructed nala bridge, opposite Metro Pillar No. 270 and ahead of the Airport Road signal. Around three months ago, road-cutting work was carried out for underground cable installation. However, instead of restoring the CC road to its original condition, the excavated portion was reportedly filled with asphalt and substandard material.

Following yesterday's heavy rainfall, the condition of the patch has deteriorated significantly, exposing a hazardous stretch that poses a serious threat to motorists, especially bikers, auto-rickshaws, and commuters using this busy road daily.

⚠️ An urgent appeal is being made to K-East Ward and the concerned authorities: please do not wait for a tragic accident to occur. Immediate repairs and proper restoration of the damaged road are essential to safeguard the lives of Mumbaikars and prevent a potential disaster. ⚠️

आज विधिमंडळात मुंबईतील फुटपाथ आणि स्कायवॉकवरील वाढत्या अतिक्रमणाचा मुद्दा उपस्थित केला.

नुकतेच माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने "Right to Walk on a Demarcated Footpath is a Fundamental Right" असा महत्त्वपूर्ण आदेश दिला आहे. असे असतानाही मुंबईतील अनेक भागांमध्ये, विशेषतः बोरिवली परिसरात, फुटपाथवरील अतिक्रमणामुळे पादचाऱ्यांना मोठा त्रास सहन करावा लागत आहे.

रेल्वे स्थानकांच्या १५० मीटर परिसरात, रुग्णालयांसमोर, खेळाच्या मैदानांसमोर तसेच सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी फुटपाथवर अतिक्रमण, अनधिकृत फूड स्टॉल्स, झोपड्या आहेत. सार्वजनिक शौचालयांच्या परिसरात खुलेआम दारू विक्री आणि अमली पदार्थांची विक्री होत आहे.

यामुळे सर्वसामान्य पादचाऱ्यांना मोठ्या अडचणींचा सामना करावा लागत आहे. पादचाऱ्यांचा फुटपाथवर चालण्याचा मूलभूत हक्क त्यांना मिळाला पाहिजे.

यासाठी पोलीस प्रशासन, महापालिका प्रशासन आणि संबंधित सर्व यंत्रणांना यासंदर्भात आवश्यक त्या सूचना देण्यात याव्यात. मुंबईचे फुटपाथ हे पादचाऱ्यांसाठी आहेत आणि ते त्यांच्यासाठीच सुरक्षित व मोकळे राहिले पाहिजेत.

तसेच रेल्वे स्थानक परिसरातील स्कायवॉकवरही मोठ्या प्रमाणात अतिक्रमण झाले आहे. हे स्कायवॉकदेखील अतिक्रमणमुक्त झाले पाहिजेत.

तर सामान्य नागरिकाचा व्यवस्थेवरील विश्वासही तुटतो.
प्रमोटी IAS असो किंवा UPSC मधून आलेला अधिकारी...
प्रश्न पदाचा नाही, प्रामाणिकपणाचा आहे.
म्हणूनच चौकशी सुरू होणं पुरेसं नाही,
तर दोषी सिद्ध झालेल्यांना शिक्षा होणं आवश्यक आहे.
व्यवस्था सुधारायची असेल,
तर नागरिकांनी प्रश्न विचारणं थांबवता कामा नये.
