Vijay Kumar, 40, worked as a cab driver and lived in Delhi's Krishna Nagar with wife and two daughters

On 23 July around 9 pm, he received a booking on Rapido app from 'Ayan'

He accepted the ride. Four men got in

On the way near Chitra vihar area of Delhi, they stabbed him repeatedly

Then they threw Vijay out and stole the cab

But after seeing some people coming behind them, they left the cab outside East Azad Nagar metro station and fled

Police traced the phone numbers and identified all:
- Mohd Ayan
- Mohd Sahil
- Mohd Aman Qureshi
- a 17-year-old (name withheld by police)

All except Qureshi have been arrested

Attached is a picture of activist @RealAzadVinod with Vijay's family, who we are in touch with. Vijay died the same day

What a tragic case

Multiple such cases have come to light in recent times where drivers with app-based cab operators have got killed similarly. Driver unions have been time and again demanded mandatory KYC verification for customers

@sewanyaya is legally intervening to push this demand or some other policy that would ensure safety of such drivers. We have also pushed for compensation to the poor family.

I request your attention to the serious issue of civic negligence in Haryana, which has become a direct health burden, particularly for the younger generation. Despite the guidelines and policies issued by the MoEFCC regarding waste management and construction dust control, effective implementation on the ground remains a major concern.

I urge your government to ensure that these measures are properly enforced and that accountability is established. It is important that governance focuses on public health, environmental compliance, and the well-being of citizens, rather than only on land development and economic interests.

I hope your administration will take meaningful action and ensure that the intended objectives of these policies are achieved.

Abuse of public health and govt laws and policies is a serious crime - an entire generation has grown up with weak respiratory system and many other health conditions. You may seek medical data and better still visit the city of Gurugram let the youth ( we will call gen Z ) show you what lies beyond the glam of brick and mortar.

As a civil society @cleanAirBharat advocating for clean air round the year, we hv sent several representations seeking systemic solutions to control waste burning curb dust pollution and more ..no one from @moefcc feels responsible to respond analyse the ground level situation leave alone seek accountability from the district offices. Public should indeed be outraged by the apathy and disregard towards public & environmental

Anything above 100 AQI should warrant declaring public health emergency but no sir , we can sit and breathe 20-50 times the safe limits of WHO std and nothing will change.
