@mercifultrees@Xtopher_Uzo Saints were persecuted but never disobeyed Church authority even if they suffered throughout their lifetime. They were sent into isolation, prison, etc. The ones that follow Christ who is meek and humble of heart, are “trees that bear good fruit”
@ProtecttheFaith Sounds resentful and judgmental. Why? Do they really seek to be in communion with Body of Christ? Where are the good fruits? I see people who persist in their own way, proud, self righteous. What is the point of meeting? SSPX uses media against the Pope. Why can’t the pope?
@JohnTraddington “Sought to convert” is not operative. Faith and Truth is ultimately a grace. We can give a little “nudge” but to take real steps is the will of the person, in response to God’s grace.
@Spud1810741@MLJHaynes Humble, obedient and silent like Jesus in His suffering and the saints who despite also being forbidden and restricted by the Church in their time. Look for the fruits in the response to Church authority
@ednyoka You and all priests are in my prayers. I know how hard it is to be good shepherds, sharing our Lord Jesus’ mission. May God strengthen you. May you grow in the holy virtues and may the Holy Spirit guide you
@LowStudies@discerninganew Same as being a Roman Catholic, we carry our crosses to accompany our Lord Jesus Christ and like Him with face like flint in fulfilling God’s will.
@Bellerator_ @LexDecs Seems like people have convenient amnesia, Catholic Church started missions and charitable organizations in never heard places way before it became a vehicle for fund raising as it is now.
@ErictheCatholic Pray to be obedient and grow in humility. To offer the lack of what you want and join in the Lord Jesus’ suffering. Saints did not get what they wanted but we rarely hear about it because they kept silent in their lifetime, obeyed Church authority even if the latter is wrong
@ednyoka Demons just want there to be less priests so people don’t get access to the sacraments. May God have mercy on Fr Alois and grant him eternal rest in His Kingdom
@FrTotleben92742 It’s the mindset. Catholic Priests are married. They are married to Christ and His Church. It’s not bachelor life style. The religious orders mandate living with a community of priests. Maybe diocesan priests should adopt similar approach
@smol_mess I just take it like any other show meant to entertain. Imagination is key to this show; it is not doctrine. Useful to know Jewish culture but also recognize that Jesus could have acted and talked differently. People assume and attribute what they know
@Catholicizm1 Because living the Catholic faith, there is an abundance of sources. The Catholic Bible. Jesus’ teachings and lived life on earth. Saints’ lives and their writings.
@USCatholic Just talk as you would anyone. Please do not dumb it down. My mom used the approach of talking to me as any adult when I was little. My real understanding came later. Seed planted, harvest later
@tradcatnatcam@catholicpat The ones who like this door-to-door attention also tend to look for more attention, perks and what “your church” has to offer. Then fall away like the house built on sand when the “courting” period wanes or Father does not say hello anymore
@LizzieMarbach@heaven_piercing@farmingandJesus It means we do not presume what God does. It should not diminish hope for salvation but until you are in heaven, we can be subject to the sin of presumption of God’s mercy (willfully knowing God will forgive anyway so we have recurring sins)
@palestrina_gp@brad_vermurlen Sinners make up the Catholic Church, myself foremost among them. But do not let that discourage you. Pilgrims of hope. It’s why we have sacraments and nourishment by Jesus’ body and blood, to keep us going, carrying our own crosses, so we can someday be among the elect.
