Diving into extremes! From conquering a full marathon beyond the Polar Circle to desert sprints in Namibia without drinking a drop of water—redefining what's humanly possible 💪❄️🔥
@chamath@chamath while I could not agree more, I think we also need to be extremely cautious about what @nntaleb asserts about "renormalization" or the stability of a stubborn minority. The more extreme the mind virus is the emergency of a minority rule is more likely.
Intifada references Arabic intense and extremely violent terrorism targeted at the Jewish people.
This has gone too far. It is time for our leaders to speak up.
"One solution: Intifada revolution."
This is a call for genocide, full stop. They're shouting on the streets what they're going to do now: the final solution.
Not in America, not on our watch.
@KevinAFischer I'm not sure this image corresponds with the text. This image is indicative of survivorship bias... Where the plane could get hit, but could still came back to participate in the study.
Pretty significant indications of taking action on material non-public information in BioTech.
knee jerk reaction is that it most likely isn't a single agent, will be interesting to see the affiliation.
Check this out.
Someone keeps trading biotech news before they are announced.
Last week I showed that a trader made $500k into $3.5 million in 24 hours before $ABBV announced acquiring $IMGN.
Someone then traded 56% OTM $EYPT calls, making a million from 100k in a day.
This week, someone made thousands trading $CERE before it was bought by $ABBV.
I will find them all.
We at Palantir have been committed to defending the principles that make democratic rule possible since our founding two decades ago.
Our software embodies our values and commitments. These include high performance, efficiency, transparency, fairness, and a rejection of narrow thinking, including fear and skepticism of the other and outright bigotry.
We believe that these values must be backed up by actions on the battlefield, intellectual and otherwise, given the egregious levels of antisemitism in our society, especially at our most elite educational institutions. Some of these organizations seem structurally incapable of taking any steps to reform themselves.
Students on campuses are terrified and have been instructed by administrators to hide their Judaism.
We are launching an initiative for students who because of antisemitism fear for their safety on campus and need to seek refuge outside traditional establishments of higher education. They are welcome to join Palantir, and we are setting aside 180 positions for them immediately.
More details to follow shortly.
@paulg@blader For those of you that recall, Dick Cheney wrote a book. That book was called... Drum roll please... "Character is Destiny". Guess it panned out well for him.
When I was a pre-tenured professor, I hosted a prominent neuroscientist who was/is a member of the National Academy and Howard Hughes Investigator. He requested I include a 30 minute nap time in his schedule, because he understood that he gave the best talks only if he had a nap. Does anyone else out there insist on an afternoon nap at work? Does your workplace allow it? The data on napping support the idea that naps are net positive for productivity. Note: Don’t nap for longer than 20-45min, or if your nap interferes with your nighttime sleep.
@KevinAFischer I noticed the same initial observation... I have been using to generate alternative ideas/positions for product requirements. You will need to refine your prompt protocol to flush out ideas. Think of the prompting now as an idea protocol, rather than an undead generator.
@LinusEkenstam@balajis Corporate buildings are beautiful, and I won't deny that the municipalities put shame to the US, but look where those highly western-educated engineers and architects live. Not only is HK densely populated, it blows NY and CA cost of living out of the water.
