One of urban transportation planning's biggest problems is that we still largely plan only for commute trips, b/c that's the data we collect best. However, it's only 20-25% of trips!
The residents of Southie deserve so much better than this.
Put in a bus lane tomorrow and end double parking in Southie @marty_walsh. https://t.co/tKjtqn5r3k
Thank you @mbta@bostonbtd for community meeting tonight re bus service proposals. Thank you to residents for enthusiasm & feedback. Investment & improvements to service critical & will continue dialogue. Bus lane for L & Broadway area unlikely to alleviate congestion as intended
@BOS311@BostonBTD An idea for why your flexposts keep disappearing/getting ruined on Mass Ave. Hint: it’s the cars. Try some nice concrete planters here, please- they’ll even look great, too!
I think this bike lane on Walnut Ave in Roxbury District 7 looks really good. Kids can bike to school and all the parks!! Can we add this to the budget? @Kim_Janey@StreetsPAC_MASS

Humboldt Ave would be much safer with raised crosswalks and pedestrian islands. One of many ways to make walking safer for children & all residents.
Keep your eye on @TommyVitolo, candidate for State Rep in Mass 15th Norfolk District.
He’s poised to be a leader for sustainable mobility in Massachusetts.

@StreetsPAC_MASS The attached graphic is written about Cambridge, but the numbers for Boston are nearly identical: About 1/3 of households are car free yet there are on average 0.94 cars per household...
Why do new ideas like a gondola capture the attention of city and state leaders when they’ve not yet gotten the Fairmount line across the finish? Most of what’s needed is already there. Just add electrification and EMUs. https://t.co/7cBiGIN6JH
Or we could just prioritize pedestrians and cyclists on our existing surface streets to reduce the need for driving and forget about tunnels under cities altogether https://t.co/SI9oV1v9LJ
