2021, under 'other news' great progress with drug-free T2 diabetes remission at our GP practice. Read about how we did it in our paper here https://t.co/POeZch5DMr Roy speaks about his remission experience in just 40 seconds below. He is rightly proud! @DocRunner1@PHCukorg
The Maillard reaction is exactly the same in poorly controlled #diabetes as it is when you toast bread. Glucose + protein + heat ➡️ 'toasting' your brain, kidneys, eyes, everything. I can only see burnt #carbs every time I walk past a bakery. Keep walking! https://t.co/Y6nA32IO5n
LDL and heart disease has a hazard risk ratio of 1.3. Triglyceride (which is the same as VLDL in the fasting state because it's all liver-derived) has a hazard risk ratio of 1.8 — much higher. The best way to reduce VLDL? Cut the sugar! Happy New Year!

AHA MD's & federal bureaucrats (NIH, USDA) have a problem. Their "Bunker the Truth" strategy about cholesterol is now fully exposed. Like water, truth has a way of coming out...

Happy New Year
I hope you will find this useful in your quest to improve the health status of Nova Scotians
Healthcare consumes a significant amount of our budget
Time to manage the cause
Cheers, your friend #sugar@LiberalPartyNS#nspoli
In 1971, George Cahill of Harvard Med and the Joslin Diabetes Foundation gave the Banting Memorial Lecture at the Annual Meeting of the American Diabetes Association. His subject: "The physiology of insulin in man."

@CosmicInglewood@RobertLustigMD@garytaubes Doing the same thing over "eat less move more" & expecting a different result is the definition of insanity
Science has determined saturated fat is vital for proper nutrition, not grains, not seed oils, definitely not #sugar
Gary Taubes (@garytaubes) exhibited his prosecutorial skills in The Case Against Sugar. Now he shows off his talents for the defense in The Case for Keto, launching today. And a strong case it is.
Thread Re: #DietaryGuidelines (DGA), just out:
USDA-HHS Secys said they're for “all Americans,” yet the DGA is scoped ONLY for disease prevention, not treatment. This ignores the 60% of US with a diet-related disease. DGA is thus for minority of Americans who are healthy.
@bigfatsurprise It will take decades to get people’s heads turned around on this. The Big Food industry has a lot of money/profits to protect in processed grains and sugary items

I wrote about problems of industrial seed ('vegetable") oils-back in 2014. It is so good to see that this is now widely recognized as a problem. (Note that industry now calls them "plant oils." Name-changing seems to be a common thing when the basic product is toxic)
We already knew ultraprocessed food is associated with mortality. This study went further, looking at what in the food was the problem. The only ingredient that generated a signal was sugar. Why am I not surprised? Merry sugar-free Christmas, everyone!

@drandyphung I think that a glucose tolerance test and resting insulin should be added to annual testing for adults and maybe even a few times for 5/9/12/15/18yo.
