@GabbbarSingh Bring back Shami and Bhuvi for the next WC. The chances that Brar, Kamboj, Reddy are getting are to show they can deliver but more often than not they are just being belted around the park.
Okay. I going to bite the bullet and write it here.
A lot of friends ask me to talk to their high school kids to "motivate" and "direct". The kids love our conversations, but some of my friends don't.
Let me write it here and you be the judge!
So people keep going back to “Israel invaded the land” and “Israel stole the land” and “Nakba-this” and “Nakba-that” and all sorts of other stories about why they justify Oct 7 and why Israel is in the wrong.
Let’s clear a few things up.
The land that is now Israel was lived in by both Muslims and Jews for a long time. If you want to get technical about who was there first, it was the Jews. How do we know this for a fact? Well, first of all, Jews have been around for about 2000 years longer than Muslims.
Not enough for you?
OK. How about the fact that the word “Israel” is mentioned in the Quran about 43 times. Palestine? Never once.
Jewish people have been around longer than Muslim people have – fact.
Jewish people were living in the place where Israel is much longer than Arabs have – also fact.
In about 1250 BCE, the Jewish people went to what was then called Canaan – where Israel sits today. This is when they escaped slavery in Egypt, and wandered the dessert for 40 years. 1250BCE. About 1860 years before the founding of Islam.
Fast forward to modern times. 1940s. Yes, there were both Arab-Muslims and Jews living on the land that is now called Israel. And yeah, there was fighting. On both sides.
After the Holocaust, the push for the Jewish people to have their own country intensified. During WWII, too many countries turned their backs on Jews. A Jewish homeland would ensure that Jews always had somewhere to go. There could never be another Holocaust, another ethnic cleansing of Jews.
Additionally, the UK was tired of dealing with all the fighting in the British Mandate of Palestine (what Israel was called before it was Israel), and wanted to wash their hands of it.
So what did they do?
They offered to split the land amongst the two groups living there. The Arab-Muslims and the Jews. Sounds fair, right? Each could have their own State, completely autonomous. Pretty good deal, wouldn’t you think?
I think it was a good deal. The Jews thought it was a good deal. Do you know who didn’t think it was a good deal? The Arab-Muslims. Do you know why? Because they didn’t want the Jews to have anything.
So the day after Israel became a nation, the Arabs attacked. 5 Arab nations attacked, in what would be known as the Arab-Israeli war.
Do you know what else it became known as? The Nakba. Nakba for catastrophe. Because they lost. The Arab world says it’s because Arabs were displaced. But they chose to be displaced. Because they chose not to accept their own nation. They left. They ran away. Because they thought the Jews would lose and they'd be able to go back.
The Arabs have been fighting ever since. At some point in time in the 1960s, the Arab-Muslims who were trying to claim Israel as theirs, started to refer to themselves as Palestinians.
Land has been offered. A Palestinian state has been offered. All that the Palestinians had to do, was accept Israel’s right to exist. To stop attacking and trying to destroy them.
Why don’t the Palestinians have their own State?
Because they refuse to. They refuse to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.
Muslim nations in this world, take up 29.13 million square km.
Israel is 21,671 square km.
Jews have 0.1% of the land that Muslims have.
And according to the Radicalized Muslims, that’s too much.
This isn’t about the land.
This is about Radicalized Muslims not wanting Jews to exist.
A nationalist might beat himself endlessly for the poor civic sense of its fellow citizens, but an Islamist will never once reflect on the issue of jihadi terror taking innocent lives to make a political point.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
There is a lot we can learn from Israelis in terms of survival instinct, social unity, and national pride.
Living in a difficult neighbourhood for decades has made them prepare for the worst, look after each other and take responsibility for the society around them. You can see it in the way people respond to emergencies, how seriously they take preparedness, and how much they care about the safety of others.

A tiny piece of advice that changed my life: Stop assuming people know how you feel, tell them instead.
Tell them when you're proud. Tell them when you missed them. Tell them when you're angry or stressed.
When in doubt, just tell them.
Honestly, nobody gives a shit what India-Pakistan talk about themselves in the UN.
This gets repeated every year and media gets some news to play. Otherwise all of this has no meanings.
The US behaves the way it does with India because that’s how a superpower would with a quasi-vassal state that hobbles about on crutches borrowed from the suzerain. India is run by a class of self-serving elite who value short term profits and domestic political considerations over sovereignty and self-respect. This comes with a cost that that generations of citizens have to bear.
Frankly, the only reason we see a pushback on Russian oil sanctions is because the cost of abiding by them would set off an inflationary spiral that would prove politically costly. It’s for the same reason the government is spending on semiconductors - the bill for which will end up higher than that of oil in a few years. Not building fabs will weigh heavily on the currency, economy, and electoral outcomes. Meanwhile, indigenous jet engines, LLMs and social media apps never figure in the list of priorities because depending on the US is profitable and beneficial for a select few. Even data is not used as leverage because the state is committed to handing over public data in exchange for dribbles of investments, visas and remittances.
Strategic autonomy is built on a foundation of hard, indigenous end-to-end capabilities put in place by an ideologically sound state. In the absence of this, expect groveling and capitulation. Red lines cannot exist where on one side side, leverage and ideological clarity are absent.
Real books change your very psyche. Not just self-help books. But the long, soul-altering books. The Brothers Karamazov. The War and Peace. The Crime and Punishment. Moby Dick. In Search of Lost Time. Writers who understood loneliness. Meaning. Human suffering. The chaos inside our minds. Writers who sat alone with their inner darkness so that one day you could read it and feel less alone in your own. They change the way you see people. They expand your perception. They upgrade your consciousness. That's what real books do. They alter you.
I recently watched the famous lecture by the late MIT professor Patrick Winston, titled ‘How to Speak.’
He opens by saying: “Your success in life will be determined largely by your ability to speak, your ability to write, and the quality of your ideas, in that order.”
Freaking brilliant.
I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, "Never play fair in a game where others cheat." It doesn't mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they'll throw dirt.
Sometimes wisdom is not revenge.
Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
IIT B Faculty should boycott everything and there should be no further Studies until the SC/ST Act put on the Faculty is revoked
This nonsense cannot go on forever!
