And even more incredible was the time I got to spend with amazing people this week. @ShopDevAlliance is a real community where lifelong relationships are being formed.
I get to learn, build, and grow with some of the best there is.
Grateful to Shopify for hosting an annual in-person event that gives us all the perfect excuse to meet in real life.
None of this is possible without Shopify and the amazing people that make up the developer community. It’s a team effort. Culture and community are crafted but the right people still have to show up.
And it’s nothing short of amazing when they do.
Shopify admin outage at the moment 🫤
Got this error and asked folks in @ShopDevAlliance and there's a big outage at the moment impacting both admins and storefronts.
Possibly related to Cloudflare outage? So...hang on a bit if something big is launching.

Do people actually use description content on YouTube videos?
Have been chatting with @kmeister2000 how these do take quite a bit of time when I do them for the @LiquidWeekly Podcast and I'm curious, is it actually worth the effort?
Or do people just listen/watch and move on?

The other stuff and formatting in YouTube is the time consuming part because then it’s not 1:1 for Spotify either of course lol

Yeah it’s the #1 reason I keep thinking of moving off 🫤 migration cost is real though. I considered Hey but after the most recent Basecamp update I don’t know that’s the route I want to go.
There’s also, at least if you do client work with services, a real benefit to using the same tools most of your clients use.

My brother recommended this book after I told him I had been into reading sci-fi lately.
Haven’t taken a recommendation from him in well over a decade since he recommended several movies that were absolutely awful.
Couldn’t tell if he was messing with me at a certain point or it was his taste lol
He now co-owns a bookstore with his wife they bought and revamped about two years ago so I’m hoping his book recommendations are better than his movie recommendations.

@eduardnpetrache@tsiger It’s not a bad take and he’s not wrong at all lol just because you don’t do something doesn’t mean it applies to all devs. Nor does his statement.
Take a look at any SaaS anywhere and devs complain and give bad reviews because it’s a paid thing and they could build it.
Listen, as developers we’re some of the worst at not wanting to pay for our tools but this is just wild.
Merchants should not be allowed to leverage app reviews like this. And if there’s evidence that they have, they should not be able to leave reviews in the App Store again.
A Shopify Plus merchant has happily used our app for 6 months. Then they ask for a discount in exchange for a review and a feature on our website. We don't usually do discounts, but I offer one if they switch to annual. They decline - and leave a 1-star review: "The app covers our needs, but at an unnecessarily high price". Doesn't feel right that they can sabotage us like that @liam_at_shopify ?

I’ll try to snag a screen recording of the flow but its login and then on prompt for the code the browser extension gets hidden like this. Might be a 1Password issue?
