Decentralized science is coming to Mumbai 🇮🇳
The Bio community is bringing researchers, founders and builders together for an afternoon of DeSci + AI with the first live demo of our lab robot, Robios.
Join us November 5 on the same grounds as @EFDevcon.

Our Head of Engineering breaks down how NDT Ignition Sale allocations are calculated with links to the transactions and contracts.
We’re planning to bring this analysis into the launchpad so you can inspect it for each launch.

Since many users have asked for more transparency around their actual numbers post-launch, we have added that to the UI of each ignition sale page. Here's the one for $NDT: https://t.co/RQIwiRTllN
It seems like there is some confusion around ignition sale allocations, how they are calculated and where funds went for the recent $NDT launch. User feedback is super important to us. Transparency & verifiablity are killer features of crypto (some would also call it a bug). Launches on @BioProtocol largely happen on-chain. The allocations of sale participants are being calculated based on their (optional) BioXP pledges. BioXP is our reward program for users that show long-term commitment to the DeSci ecosystem. For launches, it let's users 'skip the line'. The rules for that are roughly:
The token allocation is basically pro-rata based on BioXP pledge with some caveats:
- Allocation ceiling at max allocation. This is a parameter that's set per launch, together with the project team and communicated on the ignition sale page of each launch. BioXP pledges that would lead to an allocation greater than max is burned.
- Floor at USDC commitment (infinite BioXP does not give you infinite tokens - token price is fixed per launch). Extra BioXP that would lead to more tokens than the user committed paying for in USDC is burnt.
- If there is allocation left, distribute rest to people who have committed USDC but "too little" BioXP (e.g. 0)

September in the Biosphere 🌐
- Open Science Index: We launched a searchable directory with 6,720 scientific resources.
- Launchpad: We added credit-card wallet funding through Privy.
- New Bio website: We revamped our website, bringing BIOS, OpenLabs, Buildspace, Launchpad and Biofy together in one place.
- PeptAI: Selected for Track 2 of the Adaptyv Bio × Anthropic Protein Design Competition.
- NeuroLab Ignition Sale: The sale closed 2.2× oversubscribed, with more than 442K USDC committed by over 650 participants. NDT reward claims for veBIO stakers are now live on https://t.co/Pdf20lmFSy. We also refunded all BioXP spent on the Ignition Sale.

BioXP Refund Update
All BioXP spent in the NeuroLab Ignition Sale has been refunded to every participant including those who purchased instant BioXP.
Refunds are automatic. No action is needed. Check your transaction history on the BioXP page: https://t.co/uprZE58SRp
A full list of BioXP pledges and their resulting allocations will be available on the sale page shortly.
We're working closely with the NeuroLab team to support the project's long-term research and commercial development. Stay tuned for further updates.
The new PeptAI website is live 🧬
What's New:
• Pipeline overview: We’ve moved from a candidate view to a pipeline overview, making it easier to follow each project and see where everything stands.
• Start a project with us: Researchers and companies can now submit a research question or project idea through our contact form. Tell us what you’re working on and how we could help, and we’ll work with you to build a program around it.

Update on NeuroLabs Ignition Sale
We want to clarify what happened during the launch and what we’re changing going forward.
1. Based on past launches, we intentionally didn’t communicate a specific finalization time to allow a buffer for the launch to finalize and for us to verify that everything was correct before distributing allocations. However, an outdated message from a previous deployment was still displayed on the finalization page, stating it would happen within 30 minutes. A disruption to our subgraph infrastructure delayed finalization leaving about an hour between the sale ending and TGE. We’re sorry for the wait.
2. We saw concerns about a wallet receiving tokens without participating in the Ignition Sale and selling shortly after. This wallet belonged to a NeuroLabs advisor and had been funded just before the launch. The advisor sold tokens representing 2.15% of the total supply.
NeuroLabs AI's tokenomics allocated 14.83% of the total supply to advisors, fully liquid at launch as communicated on the Bio launchpad sale page. We always recommend vesting for team, investor and advisor allocations but accepted the team's request to make the advisor allocation fully liquid for this launch. Going forward, well enforce vesting for all team, investor and advisor allocations to better protect supporters.
3. From our side, we will refund all BioXP spent on the sale to all participants including those who purchased instant BioXP.
We believe DeSci should give projects the funding and community support to deliver on their roadmaps beyond the TGE.
We're building towards this through early community building and funding on OpenLabs, with permissionless launches and milestone-based funding in development for the Bio launchpad. The goal is to let projects focus on their scientific work, with supporters committed to that longer-term progress.
Thank you for your patience and continued trust as we build an ecosystem of tools and communities to move science forward.
New on OpenLabs: Dog Years DAO is exploring follistatin gene therapy for aging dogs 🐾
Joint pain can make dogs less active. Weight gain can then add more strain to their joints.
Tristan Roberts (@aitherick) and his team propose using plasmids, small pieces of DNA to help cells produce follistatin, a protein that regulates muscle growth.

The PeptAI team has been selected for Track 2 of the @adaptyvbio x @AnthropicAI Protein Design Competition!
The competition brings together researchers from around the world to use AI to design new potential drug candidates for diseases that affect millions of lives.
Track 2 includes Claude Max 20x accounts for three months, plus $500
in @Modal compute credits for the team.
Excited to join researchers exploring AI for protein design, with experimental testing and results shared openly on @Proteinbase so others can access the data and build on what we learn.
People who drank more coffee had less body fat, less visceral fat, and more lean mass than less-frequent or non-drinkers.
The biggest benefit was seen at 5 or more cups per day.
And for men, every extra cup per day was associated with a ~10 ng/dL higher total testosterone. Higher coffee intake was also associated with better glucose and insulin regulation in men.
This was an observational study, but mechanistic and experimental evidence actually supports coffee's benefits on metabolic and hormonal health. I'm willing to believe there's a real link here rather than draw a conclusion such as "coffee drinkers live healthier lives in general."
