The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.

At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.

Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.

Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.

We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.

On 22 jan 2026 our conciliation meeting at CLC delhi ended around 6 PM after 6 hours of marathon discussion during which multiple authorities including joint secretary DFS tried their best to persuade us from going to strike without accepting our only demand of implementation of 5 days banking week.and UFBU under chv leadership kept repeating same position we are open to call off our strike even 26 jan midnight if our only demand is accepted.
So it was stalemate and we were heading towards strike and our team led by chv and DCLC and others went to other room to draft proceedings of meeting
Normally it takes half an hour but that day it took more than an hour because suddenly some development happen and meeting was called again for 23 rd jan 2026 afternoon with likely chance of meeting with some officials on23 rd forenoon also .
Since most of the leaders of UFBU coming out of Delhi have booked their return ticket so few returned but few stayed back changing their travel date .
CHV said he will return to Chennai by 9.45 pm flight and will come back to Delhi by tomorrow morning 6 AM flight .delhi monsoon was not good and his flight may be delayed in morming so I insisted you stay back here .he said he has not brought clothes .we said we will by clothes for you but he said he had to travel for 3 more days to different location of india so he had to go back and assured by 9 AM he will be back to Delhi .
So he boarded that flight reached Chennai home by 1.30 AM posted a circular in UFBU whatsapp group at 1.30 AM .he carries his laptop while traveling and does all typing by himself while in meeting or traveling.
I sent a message at 4
30 am checking his flight time .he replied he is on the way to airport to board 5.50 AM flight .I called him again at 9 AM and offered him to rest in a hotel room near CLC office .he said he is heading towards cannaught place for breakfast and if he needed hotel he will inform and at 3
15 pm when I reached CLC conference room he was already there typing some thing .and in evening he boarded flight for pune to attend meeting in kolhapur .
He is around 80 years of age .but had stamina of half of his age and friends life of few trade union leaders is not as rosy and cosy as we thinks and believe.
I had many differences with him in the past and may have so in the future but for now on this strike for 5 days issue he has my confidence vote and hope he will lead UFBU to deliver 5 days banking week implementation in 2026b for which lakhs of bankers and their families are waiting for years .

Agar ye strike hoti h and agar impact nahi aata then feb 3 days strike with Saturday Sunday and in march indefinite or 5 days strike with weekend should be announced
