Open Source SLAM Tracking for the Bigscreen Beyond is here!
Now you don't need base stations to enjoy the Beyond in 6 DOF!
This is perfect for people who have issues with base station tracking or just want something simple for their sim rig.
Best part: it adds less than 16 grams!
So if you thought Doom on Linux in a fragment shader in VRChat was crazy... Turns out if you optimize it enough to run Quake 3 Arena! I also added VR controls. And even a barely working LAN connection between users via Udon.

A Reddit user named AstroPC has transformed their PSVR2 into a standalone headset by combining adapters with a RedMagic smartphone that serves as a compute puck. Major improvements are in the works (Custom PCB). @SadlyItsBradley@GAMERTAGVR

@benz145 2/ They stopped producing face tracking modules for VRChat, although now this niche is frankly empty.
If the Ultimate trackers had been good at the start, there would have been a massive switch to their trackers instead of Vive trackers.
@benz145 1/ Stop spending money on developing experimental headsets. To produce a headsets for business and rarely a PCVR headsets for enthusiasts.
Pay more attention to the VR peripheral.
DAS are still one of the best headphone headsets, but they haven't adapted it to the Quest.
@vr_rames I think there is probably no need to attract investors in this situation. The strength of the VR community should be enough to provide for themselves in everything related to games, software, and possibly even hardware.
Especially if you solve problems purposefully.
@afoxdesign 2/ To use virtual reality glasses 24/7 (which, I think, is worth striving for at the limit of virtual reality development), a different design of the head strap is needed.
The laws of physics will not allow them to be compressed to 10 grams.
@afoxdesign 1/ No, I'm just guessing from my experience using Bigscreen Beyond and the opinion that glasses over 10 grams(!) put too much pressure on the nose and ears after a while of wearing.
@elaine_lyons_ At least describe your problems, maybe the "collective mind of the Internet" can help you?
Maybe you can search for answers on this discord server?

@WufskiBarks I think it will be possible to create your own social platforms based on BasisVR after a while.
I'm trying to work on it now.
