This diversion got reverted by afternoon. Even I spoke to traffic police on duty, same feeling he had expressed. Instead of easing the movement this diversion caused a chaotic situation. Thanks for the quick response @ChennaiTraffic.

@ChennaiTraffic Closing 2 U-turns towards Sholinganallur will make the traffic even worse. U-turns should ease the traffic movement but today it was a nightmare as 15+ Govt E-buses are riding on Service lane. Open 1 U-turn towards Sholinganallur. I strongly feel this change will be reverted soon

Airlines are exiting Chennai one by one. That cannot simply be a coincidence. It is a warning sign.

Look at where the industry is heading:
• Emirates: replacing 777s with 777X (~20% lower fuel use)
• Air India: adding A350s (~20% better fuel efficiency)
• IndiGo: expanding with A320neos (~20% lower fuel burn)
Just few examples.

Reality is the global aviation is obsessed with fuel efficiency. Every 1% of fuel saved matters.

Yet Tamil Nadu charges 29% VAT on ATF — among the highest in India.

When fuel is an airline’s single biggest operating cost, taxing it this heavily simply prices Chennai out of the sky. Why make Chennai more expensive to operate from?

This isn't growth. This is self-destruction.

But if we do travel against the current rules defined, that won't solve the problem you faced. TTE or any staff will work under the rules defined by their org.
