The footage has drawn sharp criticism from netizens, with many demanding strict action against the accused and stronger measures to ensure tourist safety.

Police officials said no formal complaint had been lodged in connection with the incident so far, and therefore no legal action had been initiated.

However, local residents and stakeholders from the tourism sector have urged authorities to take suo motu cognisance of the matter.
