17 viruses that stay in your body for life:
EBV, HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV, CMV, HHV-6, HHV-7, HHV-8, HIV, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, HBV, HCV, HDV, JC, BK, HPV
Most can't be cured — only kept in check by your immune system. The hard part: clearing a virus hidden inside your own cells.
The first sleep AI foundation model for predicting diseases was published today @NatureMedicine by @james_y_zou and colleagues

With @NotebookLM I made this infographic that tells the rich story pretty well
Today in @NatureMedicine we report that AI can predict 130 diseases from 1 night of sleep🛌
We trained a foundation model (#SleepFM) on 585K hours of sleep recordings from 65K people—brain, heart, muscle & breathing signals combined.
AI learns the language of sleep🧵
Our In Vivo DNA methylation editing paper is finally published. Happy to share these two transgenic mouse lines to help investigate the function of DNA methylation at gene/locus of your interest! Happy holidays!

📢Arterial stiffness is associated with prefrontal cortex integrity in ageing by Rachael Yu & Sharon L. Naismith (@Prof_Naismith) et al.
This study shows that among older adults, greater arterial stiffness (measured by pulse-wave velocity) is linked with reduced cortical thickness in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) — a brain region critical for executive function and cognition.
These findings suggest that vascular aging may contribute to structural brain changes, reinforcing the importance of vascular health for healthy brain aging.

“Gut microbiome signatures predict cognitive impairment in older cancer survivors” by Brandi C. Miller & Shalini Jain et al.
This study finds that older cancer survivors (≥ 60 years) have distinct gut microbiome signatures — including specific bacterial taxa and metabolic pathways — that associate with cognitive impairment. Compared to non-cancer older adults, survivors with cognitive impairment show reduced beneficial microbes and depletion of microbial neurotransmitter-synthesis pathways.
These findings support a potential gut–brain axis link in cancer survivors, indicating the microbiome might help predict or even contribute to cognitive decline in aging individuals post-cancer treatment.

New research identifies a unique T-helper cell subset that increases with age and may help clear senescent cells — a potential lever for slowing biological aging.

Today we’re thrilled to announce JAM-2 — the first AI model capable of generating drug-quality antibodies straight from the computer, with industry-leading success rates.
> Drug-like affinities: Picomolar to single-digit nanomolar antibody binders for half of 26 targets while testing <45 designs each.
> Unlocking hard targets: Up to 11% success rate for direct on-cell GPCR binders; top antibody hits in the single-digit nanomolar range.
> Unprecedented epitope breadth: JAM-2 routinely designed antibodies that hit 30–70% of user-defined epitopes, now enabling intentional design of biology — not chance discovery.
> Drug-like developability: Over 50% of antibody designs passed core industry developability criteria with zero optimization.
> Massive leverage: A four-person team prosecuted 16 targets in parallel in < 1 month.
JAM-2 is the first de novo antibody design capability ready for front-line use in drug discovery, matching or surpassing traditional discovery approaches.
We’re already deploying JAM-2 with multiple large pharma partners and seeing excellent results.
If you’re interested in partnering on molecule development or accessing JAM-2, contact [email protected].
