@kamikaz_ETH coinbase and circle are separate entities. it's not in coinbase's interests to lock up billions of their own funds as a liquidity buffer on the weekend
@SuthaKamal@seyitaylor@twobitidiot@YamaFinance I may be biased because I'm a founder, but I believe the economy will be reliant on such stablecoins before someone builds up an organized effort to ban them.
And the rest of crypto will exist either way. Not needing to trust the legal system is very useful imo
@SuthaKamal@seyitaylor@twobitidiot Other stablecoins (e.g. @YamaFinance) can outcompete CDBCs by making borrowing more flexible. USD enters circulation in a relatively restricted manner
Whether or not CDBCs win, crypto brings programmability and trustless agreements to the world
@SuthaKamal@seyitaylor@twobitidiot trustless and programmable money. Rn it's mostly used as:
- a bank account for people in unstable countries
- a very easy way to send money internationally
- settlement layer for banks
Integrations will increase, causing value prop to explode.
