1969 is known as the year of Bank Nationalisation but did you know - just a few weeks before Nationalisation, SBI Employees conducted an indefinite strike that lasted for 17 days. Before this strike, Bank officers were at mercy of management. After strike, everything changed. Powerful unions like AISBOF formed which eventually led to formation of AIBOC. After strike, Indira Gandhi nationalized Banks.
