Maybe Russia would consider a deal on the Kuril Islands if Japan was actually sovereign. But Japan has 54,000 US troops on its soil. The US wrote their constitution. The US dictates their defense policy. Japan can't make independent decisions about its own region without Washington's approval. Russia knows exactly what would happen to those islands if they returned them. Within a decade, they'd become another Okinawa - packed with US military bases, missile systems pointed at Vladivostok, and 20,000+ American troops stationed 50km from the Russian mainland. That's not a territorial negotiation. That's handing strategic assets directly to the Pentagon. So we'll never know if Russia would make a deal with a sovereign Japan. Because Japan isn't sovereign. They've been occupied since 1945, and they've accepted it so completely that they don't even see it as occupation anymore. And that's entirely on Japan. Nobody forced them to stay a vassal state for 80 years. They chose American bases over independence. They chose being a client state over being a true partner to their closest neighbor. Russia can't negotiate with a country that doesn't control its own foreign policy. The only way those islands ever get discussed is if Japan becomes Japan again - not the 51st US state with a different flag.
@Jason_Restante The primary use case for data centers is ai based surveillance, data storage and ai based data mining. The public interest case isn't convincing for that reason. They can't exactly sell the public on the true intended uses. There's no FOMO, the contracts are already signed.
America is a beautiful melting pot of monarchist Iranians, Shen Yun Chinese, Orange County Vietnamese, White Russians, Cuban gusanos, Miami Venezuelans, Afrikaners, Eduardo Bolsonaro. A rainbow of people who had their servants taken away.
New Article: I painstakingly reconstruct how Epstein & Trump coordinated Miss Universe & an underage modeling competition that were both staged in Ecuador in Summer ‘04, with overlapping panelists, contestants, & organizers. The Clinton Foundation provided diplomatic support to Epstein & Maxwell while they attended the Brunel-orchestrated event in Guayaquil, contacting the U.S. Ambassador to secure fuel for the Lolita Express due to a shortage.
This was one of the Clinton Global Initiative’s first ever orders of business, assistance rendered even prior to the disguised $1 million USD loan that Epstein gave in Oct. ‘04 to finance the inaugural Davos-esque conference, monies routed through the European advertising and PR agency Publicis Groupe (chosen by Ghislaine because they were Robert Maxwell’s old firm and former Clinton staffer Mary Morrison was working there briefly, overseeing the “Clinton Project” at the time).
There’s a much higher than non-zero chance that the fuel the Embassy helped furnish Epstein and his pilot Larry Visoski with was used to fly barely above preteen girls back to the States.
There's no "Does Israel control America?" or "Does America control Israel?" question.
"Israel" is part of America in the exact same way a garage is part of a house.
🇷🇺Russia: The Soviet Union no longer exists, can you let us into NATO like everyone else?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Okay, but can you please not threaten us by expanding NATO to the East?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Alright, we saw you're developing new missile systems, will you let us work on them with you?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Fine, hypersonic missiles it is, but can you at least not put military bases right in front of our borders?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Well, you just carried out a military coup to overthrow a democratic election in Ukraine, can we still have a friendly relationship with them?
🇺🇸USA: No
Russia: Gotcha, but the people of Crimea are really pissed off about that coup, can you please let them have independence?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Roger, but surely you can at the very least stop bombing the civilians living in Donbass, right?
🇺🇸USA: No
🇷🇺Russia: Huh, we've been trying to find a diplomatic solution for a 8 years but you refuse to even talk to us... I guess that if you want to use military force to solve issues so much we have no choice but to do the same.
🇺🇸USA: OH MY GOD PUTIN IS A MADMAN, AN IMPERIALIST GENOCIDAL DICTATOR, LITERALLY THE SECOND COMING OF HITLER, WE MUST STOP HIM AT ANY COST BEFORE HE TRIES TO CONQUER ALL OF EUROPE

The AI world is being reduced to two tribal labels:
China AI = open AI = authoritarian AI.
U.S. AI = closed AI = democratic AI.
The absurdity is almost perfect.
China offers open weights, local deployment, lower costs, and greater technological autonomy—and this is called “authoritarian influence.”
American corporations keep the models closed, control the infrastructure, set the prices, rewrite the rules, and can revoke access at any time—and this is marketed as “democratic AI.”
In this new theology, openness becomes authoritarianism, while corporate monopoly becomes freedom.
The argument is no longer about what the technology does.
It is about who is permitted to define the rules.
“Democratic AI” apparently means intelligence owned by American companies.
“Authoritarian AI” means intelligence the rest of the world can actually possess.
It's so creepy how evangelical Christians fetishize Jews and Israel. They treat the modern state of Israel like a magical fantasy land and talk about Jewish people like fairy folk, because those words happen to appear in some ancient book of made-up stories.
They regard today's genocidal apartheid colonialists in the state of Israel as biblical Israelites, and think some dentist in New York City is the same sort of person as the fictional characters they read about in the book of Exodus. It's like if someone took over New Zealand and named it "Middle Earth" and started calling all the Kiwis "hobbits", and then all the Tolkien nerds started oohing and ahhing about it and planning expensive trips to go see the land where Gandalf and Frodo once walked, and started organizing lobby groups and voting blocks to promote the foreign policy interests of "Gondor" (formerly Wellington).
And the modern state of Israel is built around facilitating this exact type of fetishization. They resurrected a dead language that hadn't been spoken conversationally anywhere on earth for centuries and changed the name of their currency from the lira to the "shekel" in order to facilitate this Bible-LARPing and build on the illusion that their brand new ethnostate is the same as the nation that Jews and Christians have been reading about in their ancient scriptures. All to ensure that a western political support base will push western governments to pour modern war machinery into propping up this ridiculous apartheid state with the nonstop violence required for its perpetuation.
It's so fucking insane. "Ooh, we've got to send bombs and attack helicopters to the magical Jew kingdom so that the magical Jesus prophecy can come true and make us all go to Eternal Paradise!" Fucking freaks. Stop doing this.
The ruling class does not fear your anger.
It has focus groups for your anger. It has consultants who have modeled your anger and priced in your anger and designed messaging strategies calibrated to your anger that redirect it toward their preferred targets.
Left anger gets redirected at the right. Right anger gets redirected at the left.
The people funding both redirect flows meet for dinner and discuss the quarterly results.
What they have not fully modeled is contempt.
Contempt is different from anger. Anger wants to be heard, wants to win, wants to change something. Anger still believes in the arena.
Contempt has stopped believing in the arena.
Contempt looks at the Senate hearing and sees theater. Looks at the election and sees casting. Looks at the press conference and hears the specific cadence of people who know that nothing they say will have consequences and have long since stopped trying to make it true.
Contempt is not a political position that can be triangulated against.
It is a withdrawal of legitimacy.
And when enough people withdraw it simultaneously, not to a different party, not to a different candidate, but from the entire performance, the performance becomes very expensive to maintain.
They can manage your vote.
They cannot manufacture your belief.
And they are running, for the first time in a long time, genuinely low on it.
