@TCMcG I started reading this book called „Ducks Newburyport“. It’s about the thoughts of a woman in Ohio. It’s 1000 pages long and a single sentence or nonstop stream of consciousness.
"in the academic world, there is talk of “MDPI professors”...who have risen thanks to CVs based on shoddy work"
What next - "Cell professors" with glamorous work, "eLife professors" whose work is equivocal? 🤪 ht @isidroaguillo

In Grad school, they were planning to renovate and tear down a staircase. So during a Happy Hour, students brought sledgehammers and tore down a bunch of that staircase.
A lot of students probably still have some of those bricks as souvenirs.
What is your most unhinged story from grad school?
Mine was probably the time I picked a dead flounder up off the lab floor and then ran to a public bathroom with it in my hands and sobbed over its body in a stall.
@Metabo_Dave@macroliter Is it okay if I use both R and Prism, depending on my mood? Sometimes I find making a really pretty figure in R to be a great procrastination tool.
@David_McGaughey I’ve tested a few. They work fine. But they usually give some kind of complicated statistical score just to tell you something you probably already know.
