I think people have been quite delusional so far thinking the #SteamMachine would cost 600-800$. From the beginning Valve already said it would be priced as a PC and not a console...
@Wario64 Okey, now I'm so worried about the Steam Machine and Frame pricing... If the deck is 949$, the Machine could perfectly be 1500 and the Frame 1200...
@cyannick He is going to be completely blown away by Lone Echo, still one of my all time VR favorites, probably the most immersive I've played thanks to its locomotion system
Today, I ported a Nanite-style tech to Godot for my Gaussian Splatting standard mesh, and the performance is already very good. I haven’t added DLSS yet, which should make it even smoother and help reduce aliasing.
For the Nanite part, I based my work on the PR that appeared three days ago on the three.js GitHub:

I tried out Google and Xreal's Project Aura XR smart glasses. They're kinda legit. The 70-degree FOV makes a huge difference. Hand tracking is mostly solid (some bugginess) and playing Demeo in AR was genuinely very cool
I also got some pics of the compute/battery puck, which is roughly the size of the Vision Pro's battery puck

@benz145 I prefer to wait to watch Mandalorian and Grogu on Vision Pro because I know watching it on 3D from a Landspeeder and the Tatooine desert in the background is basically better hahah However not all of these release with IMAX format, and 3D support in Europe isn’t guaranteed…
Big news I found a way to convert Gaussian Splatting into a standard mesh while preserving all the visual advantages of Gaussian Splatting, such as reflections, shadows, and lighting that changes depending on the viewing angle.
The result is excellent performance, even on an old laptop or a VR headset. And of course, the mesh can be animated like any regular 3D mesh, while still keeping the visual benefits of GS. I’ll soon show a full-body character animated using this technique.
I was expecting a lot more for Android XR this year from Google IO🧐
I was very happy to finally get more details on Project Aura from XREAL ! I can’t wait to get my hands on that device😎
I also think the audio only glasses will be great for some, but after owning glasses with displays for a while now, it’s harder to go back to audio only. I would need hands on time with them first.
I was sad to not hear any news surrounding the Galaxy XR headset . The headset has been out since October (2025) and has had maybe 3 updates and one of those was to fix the bugs of the previous update 😩
I was expecting to hear a lot more about what’s next for the whole Android XR platform. New features , updates on beta ones , etc . Galaxy XR didn’t even get mentioned. I would really like to know what the plan is for that device . It really hope it hasn’t been written off!
@VoodooDE_Gaming How well does it perform in standalone games, both VR and flat? What is your opinion on the screen quality? Does it feel like playing tethered to a PC?
@GabRoXR You are totally right on this! It makes me mad to not have a proper Splat support in Unity with good optimization. I think web of going faster because it is more open and accelerated faster with AI
