At the Free Spay Neuter Camp in Quelossim Village
12th to 24th January, a sight to behold 🥰❤️ A heart ❤️ touching moment when a dog who is scared ..God knows why we are brought here😥.. is comforted by his brave friend...Nothing to worry Yaar.. Whatever happens, happens for good. Let's face it bravely👍 ❤️🙏🤩😃
......
A free dog spay/neuter camp is currently being conducted by WVS @WVScharity ,Goa in Quelossim village, in collaboration with Rooney Marlee Animal Welfare Trust, as part of ongoing efforts to humanely manage the local dog population and improve animal welfare.
The camp, running from 12th to 24th January, is offering free sterilisation services for community dogs and owned indie dogs in the village. As of today, 213 dogs have already been successfully sterilised, significantly reducing the risk of unwanted litters, disease and suffering on the streets.
With three days still remaining, the team hopes to sterilise many more free roaming dogs before the camp concludes. Sterilisation not only helps control the dog population in a humane way, but also leads to healthier animals and safer communities.
Residents are encouraged to make use of these final days by bringing in dogs from their neighbourhoods or informing caregivers and feeders about the ongoing camp.
This initiative reflects the power of collaboration and community participation in creating long-term, compassionate solutions for animals.
Thank you @StacySeque21731 and her dedicated team WVS,Goa🫡 for your relentless pursuit to offer a humane and scientific solution to the issue of community dogs in Goa.🙏❤️
To book an appointment, community members may reach out on the hotline at 8999317342.

Will the Registrar of Cooperatives,Goa show some spine to question these residential colonies like Estrela Housing Cooperative Housing Society ,Tonca-St Inez , Goa under what provisions of law they are holding such a poll for the members of the Society-colony? Thank you @DSPCANorthGoa for standing up and issuing a legal notice. We @GoaAnimalfedn firmly stand by you.👍

This news report👇 says that the Rajasthan government is seeking time as it obviously wants to implement the Honorable Supreme Court order in letter and spirit. The infrastructure in terms of Shelters and fencing is simply huge for all the States. Unless it is built,it would be futile to remove dogs. This exercise as told by Honourable Supreme Court in its revised order in August last, needs to be done in a humane and scientific manner. Because this order of the hon. SC is intended to bring safety and security for children, students, travellers, patients, etc. So removing dogs sans shelters to put them after vaccination and sterilisation will need a solution on the ground with huge infrastructure and human resources in food and animal care. Removing them without adequate fencing in place will again render the excuse futile as new dogs would replace old.
Appeal to Goa government @DrPramodPSawant please seek guidance from your counterpart from Rajasthan, as Goa too needs to do a good job of implementation of the Honorable Supreme Court order with all infrastructure in place.🙏

Goa Animal Federation(GAF) reports:
Ponda Sterilisation Camp Achieves Milestone 240 Surgeries in First Week*,reveals Dr. Stacy Sequeira Director for WVS HICKS ITC (@WVScharity,India) on Saturday evening.
The first week of the dog and cat sterilisation and vaccination camp at Goa KVS Ground, Ponda, has concluded with 240 dogs sterilised, a significant milestone achieved despite continuous rains and tough working conditions.
The camp was inaugurated on 29th Sep Monday, by Shri Ravi Naik (Minister of Agriculture) and Shri. Nilkanth Halarnkar @NilkantHalarnk1 (Minister of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries) formally launched the initiative.
The camp has witnessed strong community response, with locals from in and around Ponda bringing in both pets and community dogs for free sterilisation and Anti Rabies Vaccination.
"We at World Veterinary Services(WVS) and Mission Rabies(MR) @MissionRabies feel this indicates growing recognition of sterilisation and vaccination as humane, scientific long-term solutions for controlling dog populations and reducing bite incidents," says Dr. Sequeira.
The camp is being run by a 30 member team, including 2 dog catching teams, a camp supervisor, a helpline operator, veterinary assistants and animal handlers and just two veterinarians, who together carried out 240 surgeries in the span of seven days.
Despite being set up in late September during unseasonal heavy showers, the team established an efficiently designed 360° fenced, hygienic and safe temporary facility. The site features a German hangar tent and 6 pagoda/army tents which house, a reception, a kennel holding area with 105 kennels, a surgical preparation unit with autoclave and cold storage, a fully operational operating theatre, and designated cooking, cleaning, dining and waiting spaces.
The camp’s early success reflects not only the dedication of the team but also the increasing public willingness to engage in humane solutions for animal welfare and community health.
"With a target of 1000 sterilisations by 31st October, we call on the community to continue showing their support by bringing in pets and community dogs for sterilisation and vaccination, said Dr.Sequeira, adding, "The success of this initiative depends on sustained participation, ensuring a safer and kinder future for both animals and people".(eom)

@yarratrams Sure he did behind the coburg tram but the coburg tram made it through the lights and he did not where he met me - briefly. If that was a full tram then our definitions of full tram differ. Unless it’s a tram with hardly any standing passengers
@yarratrams Tram no 2020 - route 59 at Victoria Market - 6.19. Spent three minutes knocking on door and driver refused entry. And he was against a red light the entire time. Wagged his finger at me. Next tram is a depot tram. Tram after 7 mins.
The @LiberalAus media advisers seem to be on the ball and ensured @ScottMorrisonMP acknowledged that it was a terrorist attack while @billshortenmp @AustralianLabor team fell short
