This week’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) advancement - the Bergman Amendment - establishes uniform, science-based mold remediation standards (ANSI/IICRC S520) in military housing. A watershed moment for environmental health.

Change the Air Foundation and its partners have worked tirelessly to push for clear, enforceable guidelines so that service members and their families are no longer left to navigate mold like the “Wild West.”

At MoldCo, the mission is to help heal millions from mold and biotoxin illness through a comprehensive healthcare approach combining clinical care, advanced labs, and patient education with advocacy for safer environments. Healing is not complete if patients are forced to return to the same water-damaged, contaminated spaces that made them sick in the first place.

Grateful for partners moving this work forward - Change the Air Foundation, Brandon Chappo (@BrandonChappo), and Rep. Jack Bergman - as policy catches up with what patients have known for years. This policy win moves the system one step closer to aligning medicine, housing, and public health around a simple idea: no one should have to sacrifice their health for where they live or serve.
