Yesterday, I had the opportunity to connect with the Republican nominees for the Texas House in West Texas — @Holly4Texas in HD 86 and @JayHardaway in HD 71. Once elected, both will be excellent members of our West Texas Delegation. They are outstanding public servants who have invested deeply in their communities, and I look forward to working alongside them. #txlege
I am honored to launch my re-election campaign with the support of President @realDonaldTrump, Governor @GregAbbott_TX, Speaker @Burrows4TX, Congressmen @AugustPfluger and @JodeyArrington, and Commissioner @DrBuckinghamTX! I am running to continue serving the people of the Concho Valley and West Texas. Together, we will ensure our rural values and priorities continue to be heard at the Capitol. #txlege
It was a pleasure to welcome @TTUSystem Chancellor-elect Creighton and Chancellor @TeddLMitchell to #AngeloState today. We were also proud to have @DrewDarbyTX join us for part of the day, where we were able to highlight all the exciting things happening on campus.
Texas House reps initially passed HB 1 w/ bipartisan support to require summer camps to create disaster plans.
@DrewDarbyTX read the names of 27 girls who died at Camp Mystic during the July 4 flooding & recognized the victims’ family members in attendance. #txlege@impactnews
There has never been a worse human in the #txlege Mom and dads are crying in the gallery over losing their precious daughters in the flood and this guy still has to make it all about himself.
In light of the devastating and deadly floods that have impacted the Concho Valley, Hill Country, and Central Texas—and in response to overwhelming feedback from constituents—I am respectfully urging Governor @GregAbbott_TX Abbott to add Emergency Disaster Preparedness & Relief to the July 21st Special Session agenda.
While we cannot change the past, we must act now to better prepare our communities for future natural disasters and ensure our neighbors have the resources to rebuild. This includes, among other things, investing in a more robust and comprehensive alert system, as well as ensuring a coordinated, long-term recovery effort that leaves no community behind.
You can read my full letter to Governor Abbott below. #txlege
Yesterday, I joined local leaders in Tom Green County for a response update. After visiting some of the neighborhoods most affected and spending time at PaulAnn Church assisting with recovery efforts, I was inspired to see the strength and fortitude of our community working together to overcome this catastrophic event.
Thank you to United Way of the Concho Valley, Concho Valley Community Action Agency, the San Angelo Area Foundation, and many others for your incredible support and coordination.
Deep gratitude as well to Tom Green County Judge Lane Carter, San Angelo Mayor Tom Thompson, Police Chief Travis Griffith, Sheriff Nick Hanna, and all of our community leaders and first responders. Your tireless efforts over the past several days have made a tremendous difference, and we are grateful for your leadership and dedication to our community.
We have a long road to recovery, but we’ll get there together. #txlege
@DrewDarbyTX has worked in energy for half a century. Cut his teeth during the oil crisis of the 70's, immediately followed by the oil bust in the 80's. He's seen it all. He understands energy and has a vision for pragmatic energy leaderhsip in Texas.

Nurse practitioners shouldn't need a medical doctor as a sponsor. It costs too much for affordable rural healthcare, argued @DrewDarbyTX. Details with video: https://t.co/TO3w4HcDQj

"To me, this is about life and death...This is a patient-centered, access-driven bill..." - Rep. @DrewDarbyTX presenting #HB3794 to the Texas House Public Committee. The bill unlocks the full potential of APRNs to improve access to healthcare to more Texans. #txlege
Earlier this week, TXOGA President @Todd_Staples was joined at our Association’s annual spring board luncheon by Chairman @DrewDarbyTX for a fireside chat, where they discussed important industry issues concerning mineral rights, produced water, orphaned and inactive wells, agency funding, and oilfield theft.
Thank you for your leadership Chairman Darby! Texas oil and natural gas directly employs almost 500,000 Texans and represents over 30% of the private sector Gross State Product.

I think water infrastructure matters and we should be taking care of it, and could never say it better than Chairman @DrewDarbyTX does here. If we truly value our water then we should be protecting it to keep it in the pipes. The 811 system works, we know this …. Saying things are too hard is not responsible or an excuse not to pursue meaningful policy. #txlege #txwater #811 #damageprevention #HB1335
I am deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner today. I had the opportunity to serve with Congressman Turner in the Texas House from 2007 to 2016, especially during our shared tenure on the House Committee on Appropriations.
While Congressman Turner and I often had spirited debates regarding the nature of public policy, we always laughed, voted, and fought with a shared commitment to Texas and our constituents.
Often, in politics, we are blinded by tenure and titles. While Congressman Turner held many positions during his years of service, he was, most importantly, a loving father and devoted grandfather.
Clarisa and I send prayers to the Turner family during this difficult time. #txlege
On this day in 1836, Texas declared its independence and began its journey as the Lone Star Republic.
Today, we honor the bravery, resilience, and spirit of those who fought for freedom. God bless Texas! #txlege
I am grateful to Speaker @Burrows4TX for appointing me as chairman of the House Energy Resources Committee and for the opportunity to serve on the Committees on Administration and State Affairs.
The Concho Valley and West Texas play a vital role in America’s energy security and independence, and I am committed to ensuring our region has a strong voice. #txlege
I look forward to speaking alongside Senator @kevinsparkstx about the 89th #txlege session and its implications for energy and oil and gas issues. 🛢️🇺🇸
