@j_mcelroy back in 2020-ish, I vaguely remember someone replying to your chart posts with a fun charts meme, but I can't find it now. any chance you still have it?
@CatieOsaurus I had to either take it off during the night (no sleep tracking) or the day (no everything-else) to let my skin rest. I had a weird patch of skin for a week or two after I gave up. also it didn't fit under half my sweaters, and the notification stuff for android was buggy.
@CatieOsaurus I *used* to have a fitbit, one of the skinny ones. I really liked the health sensor stuff. UI was terrible for anything else because there was just a swipe and a button, not a real touchscreen, so even setting a timer was a huge pain. But I have sensitive skin...
@neilhimself@ryanandvicky@ColleenDoran I was heartbroken on first watch, but now I think s2e6 will be the episode that launched a thousand fanfics. there's just so many possibilities for people to explore. I haven't cared this much about fictional characters since I was a teenager.
@LabMuffin@AstroKatie@3M I've been thinking about trying crayola markers on one - they're non-toxic enough to give to toddlers, so maybe breathing through their ink would be safe?
but the masks that fit me *do* come in black, so first I have to order the white version :)
One chronic illness thing we don't talk about enough is how difficult it makes it to express your emotions. You could be feeling the deepest hurt, anger, grief or frustration but if you release it, if you cry or yell, it makes your symptoms worse. Feeling your feelings costs you.
I can absolutely say "I celebrate being autistic and do not want to be 'cured'"' and "omfg this is all really hard and sometimes I just want it to be easier" in the same breath.
@novanathema @ZooKeeperLiz@XianJaneway @rrabagast @miriamvines @slwein sometimes it goes wrong, though, and then you can get an ectopic pregnancy, which *will* kill you if it isn't aborted. (anti-abortion laws do not make exceptions for this, good luck! 🤪)
@Wondertarte @CLiwensmom @Leeroy_The_Mage@ClaireMax ....TBF, I got a cup before smartphones existed. maybe these days I could set alarms on my phone to make me change it - but a cup I can wear all day :)
@Wondertarte @CLiwensmom @Leeroy_The_Mage@ClaireMax I've never used tampons - cried about not being able to fit one when I was a virgin, then read about TSS and knew I could never safely use them because I'm forgetful as fuck. finding out about menstrual cups was a godsend - pads are *so* gross in comparison.
The Vancouver Police Department is asking for a 11.2% increase to its 2023 budget, to $383 million.
That's would be a $38.5 million increase from last year.
Here's a basic chart showing how that breaks down.
@joannaspaghetti@the_tweedy subtitles and pause buttons have done *so* much for my enjoyment of tv :)
...also, if two characters have the same hair I *will* mix them up at some point.
@the_tweedy I've been on both sides of this; I used to get irritated at anyone who broke my hyperfocus by talking (let alone screaming - preteen girls were *not* good movie companions) but now I'm jaded and can't stop mocking the plot holes. my SO points out the eagles that make hawk noises.
@ContributingFac@dreamsofskies@danidonovan this! except my doorway has almost no space for things, so I end up having a desginated section of shelving. right now it's behind the bedroom door. I have Designated Spots for almost everything; they change over time, but it gives me a finite number of places to look.
